Just for anyone thinking about getting one of these, since the big UI update a few months ago, the minis are incredibly slow and unresponsive - frustrating to use.

    • I got a mini back at start of year when they were on Sale from Fetch directly for $49. Pretty sure the box was latest generation and it’s useable and kind of fast, but it has freezed twice when going through the catch up channels.

    • The mind boggles how they took something that worked and completely destroyed it. That reminds me that i should cancel my subscription.

  • So can Fetch plug in a set of rabbit ears and watch this stuff ala Foxtel and it's cable, or is everything over the net?

No interest if the latter, vague if the former.

    • You can plug in an aerial and use the Fetch box as a digital set top box. You will also have access to their free streaming channels & can opt to pay for others if you choose.

      • So if I got this box, and got the channel packs, I can watch them via the arial, no internet required? bc honestly that's kinda cool.

        • No, all paid channels are streamed through internet connection. Only FTA uses antenna

    • It has nothing to do with Foxtel cable - free to air sure.

  • We've got a fetch mighty. The only use it has its pause live tv. Bit basically Google TV has replaced it. We sometimes stream live tv, we watch catch up, but mostly watch streaming services & plex.

    • Do you use any PVR? Any comment on Fetch vs Plex as PVR?

      • No i haven't tried it. Plex runs in my NAS, so no TV card & thus no PVR.

But catch up usually has shows up during or shortly after airing, so we don't bother recording anymore.
