Hmmmm This is definitely not a deal.
What is a good deal? Looking at getting one for my teens for Christmas - need to know what to look for with console type (digital/disk) etc.
The standalone disc version for $799.
Oh, and whatever you do, DO NOT forget to beat the Christmas rush.

When demand will be high on any product that has often been OOS this year.
Your best bet would be getting gift cards to somewhere and then putting your name on the list if they have one such as JB or EB. I personally got TCN gift cards when they were 15% off at black friday (I would bet there will be sales on gift cards this year too) to use on a PS5. I would get a disc console by itself if possible to take advantage of cheap physical games and avoid these "bundles" as they arent actually saving you anything and just a way to hinder scalpers and make a better profit.
Sick of people commenting it’s not a deal everytime this comes up. It’s still better than paying scalpers. You want it you buy it, don’t want it then don’t buy it.
But whose stopping people from buying it? A comment stops you from buying? This is OzBARGAIN so it's natural to give your opinion on whether a deal is a bargain or not. I'm sick of people wanting everyone to agree with them like we're not allowed divergent points of view.

No, it's not us looking at each deal trying to work out if it's a deal or not, it's us communicating to other people on a bargain forum that we don't think this is a deal. We don't want our fellow users being unaware and getting ripped off.
Think of the negs as a prompt for more research.
@ihfree: Exactly. I genuinely look at votes and comments, especially if I'm buying something that I don't know as much about. It's only fair that I comment/vote when it's a product I know a bit more about. In fact, I'm literally explaining the concept of OzBargain to… people on OzBargain… I'll see myself out.
Though they feel the need to click on the page and offer a comment telling us all it's not a deal. The deal is that it's often OOS and sporadically available. Anyone looking for a PS5 have an idea what they cost. They're not looking for a deal, just local availability and not through scalpers.
I think this one is a bit different from the other bundles/downvotes.
In this case, you're probably better purchasing a different bundle and the game on it's own.
Why? If some people don't think it's a deal, they're allowed to say that it's not a good deal. It's their opinion and it may help others from an impulse purchase to 'beat the Christmas rush' (which is a ridiculous notion)

They had just the console for pre-sale for $799 last week. They're basically selling you the game at full price.
Not a great deal and that is taking into account the price rise.
HFW is a digital product at full price in this bundle and is on special for less.

I know but as in value a second controller in addition to a console holds better value than a game which drops in value

Honestly if you can get $899 with a second controller its still ok. Most people practically did this on launch way back on november 2020. So forcing it isnt a big deal.
I recalled ordering the console second controller and charge station with miles morales on launch all for rrp. These are still selling out and everyone is disadvantaging themself by holding off a purchase as its a really great console.
Since having this i havent missed my switch and havent regretted giving away my xbox one. I have enough entertainment on that alone. With psplus extra tier its even better.
At this point in time if you arent worried about latest titles and happy to play older games a digital edition is also good. But if you are a preorder physical edition person just get any bundle you can. You will make savings from physical copies down the line

Actually Xbox is better value if you wanna play it like that. Anyway, both are good consoles. Just the Xbox is priced better.
