Laptop Budget $600 for BASIC work

Hi all,

I'm looking for a laptop that is less than $600 that runs reasonably fast for just BASIC things like PDF, Docs, Youtube and printing things.
If anyone on here can suggest a brand and a model in particular would be much appreciated. I have no idea what specs is best as my knowledge in IT is minimal.

I have searched and saw these ones:
IdeaPad Slim 3 14" Chromebook Celeron N4020 4GB/64GB $447
HP 50R74PA 14" HD Laptop (128GB) [Intel Celeron] $438
Asus 14" E410 Notebook Celeron 4GB/128GB Win11 + Office 365 $447
Asus E410 14" HD Laptop (128GB) [Intel Celeron] $599
Acer Spin 1 14" 2-in-1 Win 11 Laptop $569
Acer Aspire 3 15.6" Win 11 Laptop$599

Thanks

For $600, you should be able to pick up an i3 CPU laptop during sales. Better processing power than a celeron for sure.

    • Thinking about this some more, I would even be tempted to get something closer to $300:

The things you want to do aren't particularly taxing. A 10" or 11" 2-in-1 device might be all that's required.

Now if you want to do some moderate spreadsheeting or if the files you're opening are large, then you would want something with a better CPU and not go cheap.

      • Kogan's stuff is aweful, much of Kogan's failed stuff ends up being sold off as refurb items on eBay, where the sad peanuts who buy that end up sending it to landfill

    Acer Aspire 5 15" i5-1135G7/8GB RAM/256GB SSD/W11H

If you can stretch it to $663. Its a quick boy

Avoid Celerons if you can. Some barely play youtube

  • You could probably get away with iPad for all those things you listed.

  • Looks like this deal has expired but this will do everything you're after plus more:
