Found this on news.com.au of all places. Mrs Vietbargain will probably want more than one colour so I'll get one too.

Free full-sized lipstick samples at any M.A.C outlets, David Jones Counters and participating Myer stores in Australia.

edit2 I realised there's a djs @ barangaroo. Confirmed the deal is on. You fill out a form, follow on Instagram and get a free lipstick - but it seems like there's a set range to choose from and probably limited stock (looked like at least 100 at the counter when I peeked)

MAC's instagram page put a post up (https://www.instagram.com/p/BXEv_3bFAro/?taken-by=maccosmeti…) confirming there will be lipstick giveaways tomorrow.
They've replied to some comments saying "all M•A•C stores, David Jones stores and select Myers are participating. The only Myer stores not participating are: Adelaide, Chadstone, Garden City, Canberra, Liverpool, Doncaster, Castle Hill, Joondalup, Penrith, Morley, Shell Harbour, Ballarat, Launceston and Tea Tree Plaza"
So all other Myer Stores that sell MAC other than those listed above should have some stock to give away.

Mod: Check with your local store to see if they are participating, there doesn't appear to be an official list (yet). Feel free to comment below to save others calling that store.

      Some of the posts I've seen state full-sized lipstick…which I doubt will be true. Or it'll be limited to the seasonal less-popular colours :(

    Not all DJs stores sell MAC. Here's a list of stores: https://www.davidjones.com.au/brands-by-store/mac But I don't think it's as accurate as Burwood isn't listed which I'm pretty sure sells MAC.

        How did you rationalise that? Human testing means that participants are paid for their time and know what they're getting into. Animal testing means some poor animal is locked in a cage and brutalised for their life.

          @tightshang: I think if the human goes into it voluntarily knowing they might be hurt that makes it a bit easier to swallow. Personally I'm not a fan of people though and animals don't deserve it.

        I believe humans are inherently worth more than any animal. Animals can't give consent - they are not sentient; at least not in the way that humans are.

        Animal testing is a necessary evil that saves human lives. Human testing is of course still required for any product, but early stage testing should be done on animals before human testing is performed. Humans do have a responsibility however to ensure animal testing is done with minimal harm and cruelty.

      This means they allow animal testing in order to sell in China, therefore not cruelty free. Or alternatively, cruelty free except for when profits are at stake.

    I've seen this posted across a number of "news" pages but nothing officially from MAC on their Instagram page…has anyone seen anything official?

    Also there's no clarity on the "selected Myer stores" on any of the posts I've seen so far.

    Confirmed with my local MAC Cosmetics standalone store that this deal is on tomorrow. Keep in mind they are only giving limited edition colours (more of the bright popping colours) and stocks are limited.

    Just spoke to my local store (located in a DJs), she said there are a total of 6 colours to choose from and is valid at all stores - however she could not say how many would be available, but to get in early!

      I told my wife not to even bother, there will be too many people. She was the one that told me about it before I knew about it as well, and she isn't even on ozbargain. It's going to like those viral black friday sales. But good luck to anyone trying. I especially wish all the boyfriends/husbands luck as I doubt many will get the correct shade:P Maybe they let you exchange it though, that would be great.

      @rickrone, MAC used to make very high quality stuff. not so high quality these days but what made MAC popular was not celebrities but the Drag community. MAC used to be the main brand used in drag and transgender communities largely due to the quality. it was after it became popular in the drag scene that celebrities started endorsing it.

    Woke up 7 am for this!!! Decent shades were available at MAC macquarie. Fuchsia, nude, reddish brown, nikki minaj-ish pink and one with orange-y tone
