  • Is this latest / top of range Dyson stick?

    This or gen 5 detect?

    • +1

Im waiting for gen5Detect because of the switch instead of trigger on v15

      • +1

Good call I’ll wait for it too

      • +1

The trigger the very dumb on the v15. I use a reusable zip tie on mine so I don't have to hold it all the time. Otherwise, you can buy a trigger lock.

The Dyson Gen5detect/Gen5detect Absolute is a minor improvement over the Dyson V15 Detect, though the V15 is still a good option if you don't want to spend as much but don't want to compromise on performance. The Gen5Detect feels slightly better built, is easier to maintain, and has a more comfortable set of controls, with a dedicated on/off button instead of a trigger. The Gen5Detect's soft roller floorhead also has a brighter light to help you see fine debris on hard floors, and it does a little better on bare surfaces.

      • One criticism of the gen5detect is the built in crevice tool. It makes it too bulky to use in your car versus a traditional crevice tool on a hose.

I’d recommend watching some critical YouTube videos of it before buying because there’s a few more gotchas as well.

        • All solid points, I used the gen5detect recently and as mentioned was shocked at the things it was picking up over my other vacuums, if the V15 Detect is similar in terms of suction and from what I’m reading it is then I think I’ll go ahead and purchase.

Hey mate, had the same experience with cleaning the car, I just removed the crevice tool and bought a cheapo hose and crevice kit. Something like this https://vacuumspares.com.au/complete-tool-kit-for-dyson-gen5…. Helped a lot.

        • Yep, not a great crevice tool. Really love the green 5 detect but the official to packs are always OOS. I'll have to take a look at the unofficial ones, although not sure if unofficial ones are powered (where applicable)?

  • Anyone knows if I buy discounted ebay gift card valued $804 (2% off), can you use both code SAVHGT and the gift card code?

    • yes. they are independent. you can even add multiple ebay gift cards

    • You can use Coupon Code + Gift Card Code.

      • Now it's OOS you can get JB to pricematch $854, Get ultimate gift cards to get 20x EDR points (effectively 10%) for a total price of $774 less whatever discount you can get on ordinary supermarket vouchers.

I bought the ultimate gift cards from WW with $300 shopback supermarket gift cards which will give you 2.25% cashback

  • ordered one. thanks

Am I going to get absolute stick from everyone if I buy this?

    • maybe from your spouse

  • Been waiting to upgrade from v6 slim, is this worth the $200 premium from the v10? Thanks

    • I went from V6 to V10 and improvement was night and day, so I would definitely say "yes" to a V15. Unfortunately OOS now.

  • "Dyson.. MILES DYSON! THEY'RE GONNA BLOW HIM AWAY!"

  • Good price. Just got a eufy s11 from JB $199. Had few Dyson's before and they all seem to work around a year then either battery die or hair stuck in rollers too easy, especially around the edges. Similar with cheaper though. Tried one of the newer Dyson ver and seems to be flinging the dirt around the floor. Might go the cheaper ones instead. Always liked Dyson's though.

    • How did you find the eufy one? I was also thinking of getting this from JB

      • +1

Just had it few days. So far quite happy. Much quieter then one of the old Dyson V6 but sucks much better. No dramas with cleaning up after dinner. Got 5 kids so quite messy around dinner table. Taking up biggest pieces before stick it. Using it on mostly tiles. First time on rug quite surprised picked up that much since we always vaccum it once/day. Also had a viomi. Most new ones are quite good. Have to try it few months first. Good no need to hold in button. Easy to empty bin and quick charging.

  • Oos now. Too late.

    • $854 at Dyson

      • Trying to work out how I can get JB to price match @ $804, it's $854 at dyson, TGGC and kogan

I have Ultimate gift cards I bought today to get 10% off/credit at woolworths so regardless I am better off getting JB to pricematch $854 and effectively getting it for $769

        • Ultimate giftcards?

          • @Royale with cheese: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840237

            Final price:

            • JB price matched $854, I bought shopback supermarket cards $800 worth with 2.25% cashback (add to apple/google pay)
            • Purchased $850 worth of ultimate gift cards using the shopback cards and received 20x EDR points (I now have $85 of credit at woolworths)
            • Signed up to perks with a spare phone number, got a further $10 off bringing it to $844, so I now have $6 left on my gift card for another purchase

Looks like eBay is back in stock again so probably far easier, I only used my gift cards as I had bought them this morning for something else

  • +1

Back in stock with Ebay gc about 5% off cost would be around 764. and if any shopback/CR cashback.

  • +1

Insane price drop within one year of me buying the v15 in Jan 2023 directly from Dyson for around $1300.

With the way Dyson is going, we will be looking at Dyson V105 Detec Absolute Animal Supersonic Cordless stick in the next 5 years.

  • OOS again

  • Looks to be back in stock

  • And it’s back again

Out of curiosity should I be removing the expired tag every time I see it pop back up as available on eBay or just leave it?

Edit and gone again? I dunno what’s going on I think I’ll just leave it haha

    • Don't remove, as it is already OOS and Dyson do not have it in stock on their own site.

  • +1

I had the good guys price match on this despite it being out of stock on Dyson's website.
They won't match eBay or the $804 price with the promo code though.
