Samsung Galaxy S3 4G 16GB White $444 or Samsung Note 2 16GB $545/4G $612 Inc. Shipping

464

The 4G version has 2GB of ram instead of 1GB and 4G capability. Might be worth the extra $26.
While I'm at it, I'll also include these in my post.

  • Wow!

Wow! With prices like this for the GS3, whats up with the GS2?

  • When it says "12 month australian warranty" and "1 year warranty for samsung", is that implying that it's Aus stock or imported?

    • +1

I think it's imported. I think it's saying they'll provide 1 year warranty for Samsung products.

  • +16

These are good price but take a note that DWI have a very bad reputation when it come to phone or anything non camera related. They put you on back order, take forever to ship.
Dont be fool think they are an australian company, they are not, the phone is a grey import with no gst.
Not sure how they progress over the year but buying phone from them was a no no.

    • Agree with the non-camera related note.
Bought a few lenses from them with no problem.

      • Seem to me that their cameras and lenses division is an Australian operation, their delivery time is a "lot" faster and customer service is a lot better.

        • +1

Bit off-topic but you're saying that Australian operation equals faster and better customer service? :o)

        • +1

I am not saying australian operation = faster better service, its just that a camera i bought from them was deliver with in 3 business day for free which couldnt happen with a oversea seller.

    • +2

They're definite a grey importer. So it doesn't carries the Samsung 2 yrs warranty for Australia phones.

    • Buying galaxy note 1 from them was a nightmare

  • +2

Almost a fire sale after the S4 announcement!

    • +2

Considering Nexus 4 came out in US for US$350 last Nov, AUS450 for the S3 after 5 months is far from a fire sale. More like what it should have been last year..

  • +2

Would it be better if I bought the Galaxy Note 2 16gb 4g from Kogan @ 569 + delivery or from DWI? I'm not sure what Kogan is like compared to DWI when it comes to phones. http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-4g-grey-u…

    • +2

Anyone is better than DWI/eglobal! Try Kogan or Uniquemobiles if its only $20-30 more. Seriously not worth the hassle of dealing with these fraudsters!

      http://www.productreview.com.au/p/digital-world-internationa…

      • omg look at all those bad reviews. It looks like Kogan or Uniqemobiles for me, cheers. Did you have a bad experience personally?

        • +4

Yep got held ransom by them with the Note 1.

Had my cash but wouldn't ship it for 2 months as apparently their price went up and they asked for extra money for them to send it… In the meantime they were happily selling the product at a higher price on their ebay store…

Then their is the issue of warranty- ie there is none. Haven't heard a single successful warranty claim, just lots of stalling and BS.

          You have been warned!!

        • Man that sounds so dodgy, sorry to hear that. I nearly bought the note 2 from them. I think I might buy elsewhere thanks.

        • Not from Unique, no way. I have really bad experience with them. Also have read bad things about Kogan from other Ozbargainers. Sometimes you can't beat going to JB or TGG and asking for a deal. I would much prefer this over some Hong Kong grey importer or Brisbane online only shop who has no after sales service (uniquemobiles).

        • +1

I also normally would consider Harvey Norman but I had 1 or 2 HN store managers with massive attitude against the "professionals" and said they wouldn't deal with "geeks who post receipts online". Well so i'm not going there anymore and much prefer TGG and JB because if they can't match the price they just tell you that they can't in a friendly manner so I'm going to try and match the Samsung Galaxy Note II N7105 4G LTE price on the weekend and will report back.

        • +1

I get what you are saying. Sometimes we get sucked in with lower prices and it comes back and bites us on the ar@$. So it comes down to pay a bit more locally or less for imports and take the risk..

        • Not necessarily. There are plenty of places that import that offer great service, and others have had poor service buying locally. You can't really apply a blanket statement either way.

One issue is usually shipping in warranty situations, but some international retailers will even refund that cost and I've had quicker turn arounds some times than local repairs.

        • +2

Yes, warranty, piece of mind, service, touch, see, feel and try item and feeling good about supporting Australian bricks and mortar (ourselves essentially!) and other things that are not easily described in a few deep and meaningful sentences. I have had equivalent or better deals at the local TGG than online so bricks and mortar doesn't always automatically mean more expensive. JB, TGG, OW and others are all feeling the competition and I'm glad to see they are responding appropriately.

    • +4

Kogan, only because it is cheaper there. DWI use to get neg just because it is a dwi deal.

      • +1

DWI use to get neg just because it is a dwi deal.

Ever consider that might be for a reason?

WHEN they eventually get around to sending a phone, if they have deliberately chosen to send a different one to what was ordered, they will make you send it back at your own expense with a promise to refund purchase price, which they will not do in a hurry. If you paid with Paypal and end up having to make a paypal claim, they will lie to Paypal and say they did not receive your reurned item. (At this point you want to be hoping you have some acknowledgement from them that they did (thankfully I did) and that you used a shipping method that had tracking WITH A SIGNATURE.

The negs given 'just because it is a dwi deal' are well deserved.

    • I got my 3g Note2 from Koran in Nov last year for 570, turned up in a week :)

  • the description does mention i9105 which is S II Plus, so is it i9305 or i9105?

they have the i9300 selling for the same price but also mentions i9100 in the description

This is very suspicious, especially from dwi.
I think i ll drop a neg on this as there are known major issues with the retailer.
I got a feeling that not many people will get their phone shipped seeing how it is on sale for $999 on their ebay store. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SALE-BRAND-NEW-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S-I…
Their website is just a scam to gain capital funding for their ebay business.

      • +1

Yes but that's for the black version which isn't available. Here, you can see the white selling for $515. (probably higher to compensate for the eBay fee)
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SALE-BRAND-NEW-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S-I…
I think they've placed the $999 price tag on the black version to prevent people from buying it while keeping its listing.

        • Ok the white one is listed for $515. My mistake, but considering the 10% ebay fees(which may be less for big business) which make their net gain to be around $465. Still $20 more than the website, i am sure they will be fulfilling ebay order first.
And how is it even legal to bump up price to keep people from buying something?

        • I had the same question when I wanted to get a car phone holder, white version was almost a hundred dollars more than the black version.
I emailed the seller and they explained they don't have the white version in stock, so they bumped the price up to deter people from buying.
Granted if you are willing to 'pay' that price, I'm pretty sure they will use the extra $$$ to source one for you and still make a tidy profit.

    • the description does mention i9105 which is S II Plus, so is it i9305 or i9105?

they have the i9300 selling for the same price but also mentions i9100 in the description

This is very suspicious, especially from dwi.

You're not wrong. That's what they were doing with the Defy+ - page and description were for Defy+ MB526 but adding it to cart added MB525 (original defy) instead, but at the MB526 price. Very sneaky, and not something you'd expect to have to be on the lookout for.

Several weeks after I discovered this and pointed it out to them, thinking it may have been a glitch, they hadn't changed it, so it would seem to have been quite intentional.

  • +2

DWI - no thanks. Personally had bad experience with them and a Note.

    • Did DWI send you the "third" hand Galaxy Note that I returned to them?

  • +6

Big no for me. Don't buy guys.

Say goodbye to your job tomorrow

    • Ozbargains first honest company rep.

  • I must be a lucky person. I've never had any issue with any of the grey importers. I've purchased my galaxy note from kogan, galaxy tablet from eglobal, note 2 from unique mobile without any issues with shipping or the product themselves. Kogan was the slowest with the shipping taking almost a week just to dispatch it while the other two were extremely fast at around 3 days turnaround from ordering.

Oh I also purchased a $300 headphone from dwi recently and no issue. 3 days to my door from ordering and great price

  • -2

They are pretending to be Australian!

  • I'm still holding my galaxy note that I got from dwi late 2011. Would definitely buy this phone if I wasn't still so happy with this one!

  • +2

They should ban the site from OZbargain. the product reviews page is a clusterF***.

  • Placed an order today for the i9305 white and got email says they will dispatch it today.
Other than the 2% PayPal surcharge, I'm happy with their service so far.

    • Wait till they hold you up or try to claim warranty…

      Good luck with your gamble!

    • please keep us update with your order, would love to see if their service actually improve

  • Wow!! it's good price but can we trust this company?
