I claimed a lost iPod Touch 32Gb. Despite not having a police report (lost, not stolen and flew out of the country the next day without realising it was lost) I got my claim paid minus the deductbable $100. Paid 10% less too using the TID codes that are always floating around.
Overall very happy with TID>
We had to claim for medical expenses, extended stay in a hotel, etc. They were very helpful with booking alternative flights and I had no problems with the claim. I would be happy to recommend them.
went to hospital got back my expenses no worries (less the $100).
For me TID and AusPost both give the same quote. Which one is better??
I am using this for a local (Gold Coast trip at the end of this month)
It's saying the code has expired.
Several of the Gold (and Platinum) cards (e.g. Westpac) provide free travel insurance. The only condition is that you must use the card to purchase the travel.
Pretty good as it includes all the extreme sport stuff and car hire extras for a lower price than average, however it doesn't look like they cover lost cash or personal items without adding quite a significant premium for each individual item.
I think Medicare is a better choice if you're not doing the extreme sports, they include lost items and cash as part of the package.
actually the standard quote does cover luggage and personal effects upto $24000. You can add more if needed and you will see the premium go up.
Bought their insurance for an upcoming skiing trip to Japan… Hopefully don't have to claim, but its reassuring to hear the positive claim results as above.
Posting should be marked as expired.
FYI the code is TIDSURF
no s at the end - code still worksI fixed up the code.
you also get the same 10% with TIDSAVE and TIDTHANKS
If you travel regularly then the TID Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance (http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au/annual-travel-insura…) is really convenient and a great deal. It covers one adult, or two adults travelling together (and kids appear to be free). Have used this for the past few years and never had to make a claim so can't comment on that aspect.
TID always has at least a 10% off code.
anyone had any experience CLAIMING with TID?
