Prices have gone up a bit since you first posted this, inflation/COL I know, but maybe using a dedicated Ozbargain discount code will make punters feel it's a bit more targeted & less of an ad with higher prices & lower discount than previous.

    • Indeed there is a paradox in advertising "market rates" on a bargain website, the term "market rates" implies standard or average prices, while a bargain website here intended typically offers discounted or reduced prices. This contrast may raise questions like:

      • Why advertise market rates on this platform focused on bargains?
      • Are the market rates being used as a comparison to highlight the discounts offered?
      • Or is it a way to attract customers with the promise of competitive pricing, even if it's not the lowest?

The paradox highlights the importance of clear communication and transparency in advertising. As it's essential to ensure that the messaging and pricing strategies align with the website's purpose and audience expectations to avoid any confusion, mistrust or otherwise.

These are the actual prices and wont be going down to the introductory rates we were offering when we launched. These are market rates and great value considering the maximum tour size is 7 people.

So essentially you charge $150-236 to drive people between places where they are hosted by onsite staff & encouraged to buy products (what's your kickback?), and point out scenery along the way?

With the phrase 'up to 20% off market rates' on a bargain website is noteworthy, as it raises questions about the meaning of 'market rates' in this context. Given this site's purpose of offering discounted prices, feel it's essential to define what 'market rates' refer to, with any clear comparisons that aligns with this site's purpose, to see a transparent, understandable great deal.

  • I agree with the rep, these are market rates so not really worthy of a post on Aus number one bargain website.

  • Sorry to rephrase its up to 20% off the market rates.
