Was shopping around for a cheap temporary replacement shirt stays to replace my misplaced KK & Jays brand.

These arrived quick and seem to be decent quality for the price. Not as premium quality as the KK & Jays brand ($50+) but it’s a decent fix in maintaining a sharp look in formal dress shirt attire. I hope some may find this post handy as well.

Today I learned "shirt stays" are a thing.

'Excuse me sir, would you be interested in buying some rubber nipples?'…..

  • +7

OMG does anyone actually use these?

    • +1

Might be one or two OzB'ers out there that attach a gun holster to them, perhaps?

      • +2

How would you retrieve said weapon from holster if it's under your pants?

    • +2

so useful so your shirt doesn't look messy!

      • +8

        Pants optional. Win win.

    • +9

I mean they are kind of a godsend if you are sick of retucking your shirt every time you sit down and get up, but I reserve them only for times where I know I can remove them in privacy cause my god thats gotta be a lady boner killer.

thats gotta be a lady boner killer.

        Are you sure ?

      • +2

Unclip socks, remove shirt and stays, remove pants. Remove pants last always.

    • +1

I do. As a man with gut it’s great for keeping my shirt in place. Men’s business clothing is simple but can look so bad when parts of your shirt gets untucked. These are really handy.

    • +2

I do. Started using them in my 30's and I haven't looked back since. For this price, I'd say give it a try. Your shirt will always look great tucked no matter how many times you get up off your seat, squat, kneel, etc.

One thing I worried about was going to the toilet to take a dump. It's not an issue. No need to unclip anything.

How did you get hold of my personal pics ??? 😠😠😠

    • Jules Verne, is that you mate in the pic?

It’s been ages since the science fiction and poetry days. Love your work.

Amazon whispers into my ear then proceeds to step back, standing in the background

Mate, yeah…Amazon loved your pic and borrowed them. They hope you wouldn’t mind since they are now public domain, and all that stuff.

        Thanks… Have an autograph…

  • +3

I wear them with the 2 clips on the front and one on the back…..but tying to the socks is also a great idea

    • LOL

    • That’s…..interesting….

Must be an Ouch though during no 1 or 2

    • +2

@zoner have to have faith on those clips… I don't want to imagine the pain if the one in the back comes unclipped and twangs you in the knackers

  • WTF did I just witness here?

The product is Mrs Muzeeb approved.

  • +4

Do they make them for men?

    • +5

Would you prefer if they had pictures of guns and V8s and beers on them?

      • +2

Well yeah, like any other red-blooded hetero male, obviously! Are you saying you wouldn't?

  • If you you're considering this then rather learn the military tuck method.

  • +1

Great stuff. Mine has three fasteners for each strap and latches on the thighs (which I prefer) instead on the socks.

    • Those versions are handy when wearing formal shorts or golf shorts as well

      • You're spot on mate. Be great for knee shorts. Thanks.

  • +3

Great. Yet another way to lose an eye.

    • Yet another way to lose an eye.

      Speaking from assumed experience?

These are not supposed to be under too much pull up/ down tension. Just a comfortable amount to hold the shirt down nicely whilst allowing all-round flexibility.

  • +1

Oh you don’t tuck into your underwear?

  • +1

I'm going to patent a shirt that goes all the way under, like a mankini.

    • +1

      Kinda like a ‘diaper-shirt’ ?

      seems already done mate
      (possibly NSFW)

      • +1

Lol, yes that was the basic concept. Looks like what my son used to wear as a baby.

  • if you need these, I suggest you invest in clothes that fit you properly instead

    • +5

Nothing to do with proper fit clothes.

These are worn to maintain an extra pressed, sharp look to an already good fitting clothes or attire - especially attire of softer fabric / formal wear that tend look messy when you sit/ standup frequently in them (think formal dress shirt/ tuxedo shirts/ suit shirts etc).

      Edit:

You’re probably thinking of trouser suspenders such as these.

Suspenders are mostly worn for aesthetic reasons these days rather than their originally intended design & functionality - of keeping on oversized trousers/ shirt on and in place.

    • bit of a dumb comment

  • +4

    Doubles as sock stays

  • These are great to throw into a crowd of swooning women

  • OMFG, my eyes…

    • +1

Careful - these are not meant to be used as slingshots.

  • clip them to your jocks and give yourself a wedgie every time you sit down

    • Actually, the belts relax/ loosen-up when sitting down (less pull tension action to the shirt/ sock since legs are bent whilst sitting)

  • Will this item, be featured at the new Borat movie?

  • Why not just wear a sock to shirt onesie with pants over the top

  • +2

Interesting comments. I bought some cheap ones years ago out of curiosity. Now I swear by them. I originally got the ones with the rubber fasteners, but they would slip off my socks and suddenly shoot up my leg like a rubber band. Made my day more interesting.

    • How does it work when you need to shit? Do you have to drop your trousers and then unclip everything before sitting down?

      • drop > sit > ‘drop’

        Unclipping is not necessary.

The belts are positioned on your sides - so when you’re in a sitting stance, the belts relax with a lesser pull up/ down tension.

        • Yup. And your pants waist around your knees pulls it forward so they doesn't touch the seat.

I have to admit, the first time I did it, I was a bit worried.

  • +1

Looks like something out of a 19th century male bordello.

  • Those are long songs, not stockings

  • For when tying damsels to train tracks.
