Where did you come from, Coffee-AIRJO?

        • The answer to life, universe and everything is 42

          • @ajbee: Nope, clearly the answer here is 35

These are freshly roasted. Not stale beans that have been sitting for months in transit, shelves.

      • +1

Their express shipping is amazing. Fast dispatch and arrives within 2 days to Perth with the roast date just 2-3 days earlier.

    • +1

A Maserati on sale that costs more than an MG can still be a deal

      • I think you're stretching the analogy there.

    • Those on the shelves at woolies/coles have been sitting there for months and are not fresh. Typically if you are set on supermarket coffee beans, aldi has been highly rated.

That being said, your normal casual coffee drinker probably won't be able to tell the difference between freshly roasted beans vs stale coffee beans, especially once milk is added

      • +1

That being said, your normal casual coffee drinker probably won't be able to tell the difference between freshly roasted beans vs stale coffee beans, especially once milk is added

But there is clearly a taste difference between fresh and stale. You don't have to be trained to taste the difference.

        • -1

To normal instant coffee drinkers ,it all tastes the same to them. Once you add milk, it really masks any bad coffee. Still have my first woolies bought beans which are 4yo at the back of the pantry that i sometimes drink when i run out of my regular beans

Espresso shots you can definitely taste stale coffee

          • @adu25: I wouldn't call instant coffee drinkers normal nowadays. Looks like a lot of people have moved on to ground or whole beans.

I agree that milk can make some coffees taste the same, because it adds a sour flavour that can cover up the coffee taste. It depends how strong you make the coffee. Most cafe coffees are too weak for me. When I make it at home and use bonsoy, I I can taste the coffee more, and definitely taste the difference between beans.

          • @adu25: "Normal instant coffee drinkers" aren't buying beans or ground coffee, regardless who is selling it.

            • @The Judge: i can confirm they do, especially working in corporate and organisations deciding to cut cost by replacing coffee machines with instant coffee (this was at 2 of the big 4 banks)

heck staff still drink the instant coffee on my level and it's past the best before date by 2 years

Decaf back will make the other half happy, ty!

    • Great to hear zzz0nked - hopefully worth the wait!
      Thanks so much.

  • Hello OP, i've tried the Saratoga and the Sumatra, both fine beans but what should i try next for something with a little more oomph?
Double espresso pour in Delonghi Dedica. Cheers.

Hey there liam2040 - thanks for asking and thanks for your feedback - I would recommend you step up to the Stargazer - definately a stronger flavour than those two if that's what you are looking for.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

Thunderchild also has some kick. I'm currently using a 70/30 Sumatra:Thunderchild blend which I'm really enjoying.

  • Good stuff team, thanks again!

    • Thank you DIYcharcat!!!

  • Hi @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters of the beans you sell, which is the most forgiving / easiest to produce a nice milk based drink from? ie a latte

    • Hey there SimmoAus05 - I would recommend you go for the Enterprise Blend - we used to run this in our coffee van and it hit the spot for all types of coffees.

I hope that helps and thanks for asking.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Cheers. Ran out of your decaf so good timing

    • Awesome HotPie - thanks so much!

    • Hey @HotPie - How would you describe the decaf flavour profile? and in what machine / dose?
Trying to find a good decaf
      cheers

  • Perfect timing. Just ordered. Cheers!

    • Great stuff jason2615 - genuinely appreciate it.

      Thank you.
      Dan

  • Perfect timing as my Sumatra blend from last deal is nearly finishing .Ordered Stargazer as want to try something different to Sumatra or Enterprise

    • Great to hear the timing worked for you listenam - Please let us know how the Stargazer compares for you.
      Always keen for feedback!

      Thanks so much.
      Dan

  • I find by the end of my 1kg the coffee is too stale. So torn whether to get smaller bags but way more expensive.

    • Hey Skramit - how are you storing the beans and how long are we talking? Keen to help if I can.
For what it's worth, they should hold up for you for a number of weeks if you can keep them cool, dry and sealed in the bag.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • I haven’t counted exactly but multiple weeks as I’m only having 2 coffees a day. I’m storing about half in a vacuum lid canister and the rest in the bag. Would fridge help?

        • -1

The fridge would help… to ruin them further. I'm unsure of your motives.

What sort of vacuum seal container do you have?

          • @Daabido: I thought fridge was a bad thing but asked anyway.

The vacuum seal canister is the pump lid kind that slowly extracts the air. Not sure what brand sorry.

            • +1

@Skramit: Geez I hate this BS…beans going stale is an oxidising chemical reaction.

You speed up reactions by adding heat, therefore you slow reactions down by cooling. All reactions….

Put your beans in an air tight container (ie a sealed bag around the coffee bean bag) and put in the freezer. If you have liquid nitrogen…even better.

I'm the same as you, 2 coffee's a day. Beans stored in the freezer, taking out enough for 5 days (kept in the fridge). Only place a single shot of beans in my grinder at a time.

Never had beans go stale yet (from a decent roaster like this).

              Freeze em'

    • You can freeze coffee beans if you're careful. Put in airtight container and wrap well to avoid moisture getting in.

  • I have tried the sumatra and enterprise for flat white. What should I try next?

    • +1

Hey there andersonpoon - Thanks for asking - I would go either for the Saratoga Blend or if you want a darker roast the next step up would be the Stargazer.,
Keen to hear how your choice compares to the others.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Thanks Dan, was umming & ahhing about which one for nice strong milk based coffees…Saratoga it is!

  • Dumb question but is there a way I can find out what I order last time?

I order 2 different blends however preferred one over the other and only know the one I didnt like as much. I tried to look at my order confirmation but I must have deleted it.

    • Hey BarginHuntR - if you have an account on the site you can log in and see your history. If you want to shoot me an email [email protected] with your name etc I can make sure you are set up.

      I hope that helps

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Trying your Sumatra Blend (and beans in general) for the first time. Looking forward to some great coffee

    • Thanks so much PirateKingJack - we genuinely appreciate your purchase.
Very keen to hear how they go for you.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Do you have any light roast?

    • Hey there RADICALIST - thanks for asking. Our lightest roast is our Twilight Blend or Sumatra Blend.

      I hope that helps.

"Decaf back in stock". What's the point of caffeine-less coffee? It like Delta9 THC free cannabis, or non-alcoholic wine, or an SSRI-less anti-depressant, or nicotine-free cigarettes/vapes. You're paying a decent amount of money for something with no psychoactive qualities (though you might get a placebo effect).

I just don't grok people. Stop being puritanical; start sinning; perhaps even join the Church of Satan. Zoomers are the most risk adverse generation ever. No smoking, no drinking, no bonking, no teenage pregnancies. All they have is cell phones, social media and safe spaces.

..ease off the caffeine brother… ya buzzin ;)

    • You might need a safe space of your own. How dare people who can’t handle caffeine enjoy coffee.

  • Bag of sumatra I'm on atm is so good 🤤

    • Hey Ingram thank you so much for sharing!!
Super pleased you are enjoying it!

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Perfect timing. Ordered my regular Sumatra blend and one enterprise blend to try.

    • Fantastic Pointhunt - thank you.
Very keen to hear your thoughts on the Enterprise!

      Cheers
      Dan

  • These are fantastic, had multiple times always great quality

    • Thanks so much for sharing padgo!! Makes a big difference for people finding us for the first time.
      We really appreciate it.

      Cheers

  • Excited to give the Enterprise blend a crack after using Aldi beans for the past year or so!

Any tips for dialling in a Breville Barista Touch? Usually make a long black using a single shot in a single wall basket so always find it difficult to dial in :(

    • Hey there Mooshino - thanks so much for giving us a try. I am super confident you will enjoy the Enterprise Blend.
In terms of dialling in, we have a general guide here that could be helpful https://airjo.com/pages/dialling-in

Alternatively, when you are running your first shot, you can shoot me a message via the website chat or emial [email protected] and I will help where I can with feedback.

I hope that helps and thanks again.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters can I suggest you end your deals at midnight, like most.

Not the first time I’ve intentionally left it to the last day of your sale, come home from work to order some, & boom, just missed it. Then I just order somewhere else.

Deals turn into a pumpkin at Midnight ;)
