        username kamps out.

      • 400MM Cutting length – Provides great reach and removes more material in a single pass

  • +1

Is this a good system if I also want a cordless line trimmer?

    • -1

      For the price, probably…

I have Ryobi, but it will cost a lot more…

      • +1

Trimmer passes, if u don’t have a hedge maze to maintain - blower sucks, even for the price.
I got a Ryobi for my blow jobs clean ups

Blower isn't that bad. I use it to clear off our back deck from dog hair and dust and driveway after a mow. Probably won't blow massive clumps of grass but does fine for light stuff.

Edit: I use it with a 4ah battery though.

I use an Ozito hedge trimmer on my driveway length hedge and does a decent job. Just keep in mind it's for trimming, and not cutting thicker branches.

      • Light weight. I also have ego for doing more serious trimming, but I find that this is perfect for a quick touch up

    • +1

It's usable but would not consider it a good system.

First of all, it only comes with a smallish 2.5Ah battery, it's unlikely to last and share between tools. So need to factor in the cost of additional high capacity batteries and ideally a dual charger.

Trimmer's 40cm cutting length is relatively short, will likely require multiple passes. The blower looks very weak, though 210km/h air speed is reasonable, but air flow is not mentioned (what really matters).

Unless you plan to use them very occasionally, for regular duties look for tools with brushless motor (somewhat indicative of quality).

Hinestly if you want an ozito blower do the 2 battery jet for $149. It just works.

I bought the 36v jet blower last week, absolute beauty, damn powerful! I don’t really like their kits as from what I’ve seen they pretty much always have the entry level models (toys?!). I’ve been collecting a few 36v ozito tools & love them (jet blower, mower, chainsaw). Though I went with a ryobi line trimmer as ozito doesn’t make a good 36v one.

@firedomain: The 36v one does the job, i work it hard on mine and parents yardz.

3 years in ive had it replaced 4 times 😂 the motor eventually lets out the magic smoke.

Point is when it comes in stock in a weeks time ill have a new 5yr warranty

            • @Slippery Fish: Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I mostly use it on low/med & only turbo if stuff is stuck. Will be gentle with it! Though the descent (& convenient) warranty definitely helps in these situations!

          • @firedomain: Was looking at EGO but recently thinking of 36V from a cheaper brand. What’s your use case if you don’t mind, particularly for the mower?

            • +1

@andresampras: Just a weekly mow of front & back yard. Reasonable size yard. Was rather overgrown on the first mow & it chewed through it pretty good (though i did take my time since it was very overgrown.) I too was looking into more expensive ones, but the tight-ass in me got the final say :p
I went with the ozito 36v brushless mower (non steel deck).

          • @firedomain: What is it about the Ozito line trimer that makes it bad? Or in othter words, what should I look for in a cordless line trimmer?

        • +1

I've had the blower from this deal for years, got the 36v today based on recommendations here. Major disappointment, sure it's noisier and blow more air around, but it's ability actually move stuff is probably less. Only use i will likely have for it is for when the neighbors piss me off.

          • +1

@tonka: This exactly. I started out with the 36v and figured out how to use it effectively (lower speed) then bought a kit with this blower and it's effortlessly more effective.

            • @ohgee: Weird, mine is great, Maybe the smaller end with closer to ground?

I only use it to move grass after mowing and the old 36v one was enemic

              • +1

@Slippery Fish: I think the smaller one might get directed power because of the tapered nozzle. The bigger one yes it has more volume and because of this it's moving more volume and prob seems impressive. I have a concrete path down side of my house , with a bit of leaf debris and a bit of loose damp soil, I gave it a quick 5 minute go over with the small blower yesterday, it moved all the leaf debris, shifted a bit of the loose dirt (and blew a little of the dirt into my brickwork). I figured I'd get this super dooper blower and blow out the dirt that was left. It didn't even clear out the dirt my small blower had shifted. This blower would be great for shifting bulk amounts of very loose light stuff quickly. I wanted it because I get a lot of loose dirt around my lawn edges, but my smaller blower will do a better more precise job I think so I've wasted $150, should have got the edger I wanted. I guess my summary is if you want small volume but directed and a bit tidier, get the small one. If you want lightweight high volume debris to think you're the boss and make impressive leaf clouds get the 36v.

                • +1

@tonka: Hahaha i just hate blowing the grass so more air is faster. Return the blower nd tell em it didnt work as good as small one then buy edger

I have both of these tools and they're fine. They trim the hedges and blow the leaves. I've used Stihl 2-stroke and Husquarvarna elec trimmers which are both better, but no way would I spend that money on a tool I use for an hour about ten times a year. Oil the trimmer blades after use.

    What's the usual price?

  • As if this is the go to trimmer for this wall of hedge: https://media.prod.bunnings.com.au/api/public/content/c5af56…

    • +1

I don't see why not if it's for the odd stray branches

    • Yes, it can do it. I use it on my hedge to keep it short. The thinker branches aren't that great. But it works. 36V one is heaps better though.

  • The blower is absolute crap. Had about the same power as the little Ozito jobsite blower and about a 1/4 of my Makita one.

    • +3

Never had a problem with mine.

    • +1

Totally agree, can move a few dry leaves but pretty useless for anything more than that.

If you want a blower get a proper one.

The hedge trimmer is pretty nice though, being so light makes it very easy to use.

  • Have the trimmer. Does the job for a small hedge. Would probably want something bigger/more sturdy for larger hedges/full hedge walls

Isn't this just the regular price for this combo? I've been watching this combo for a few weeks waiting for stores to do a price drop

    • Yes normal price , bought it a couple of months ago
