    Does anyone actually use fetch

      It’s a good PVR

      • +2

Especially wheb bought for $79 or $99!

      • Does anyone actually watch TV

    • +5

Yep.. Awesome PVR and net channels.

      • Agreed! Can record 3 FTA channels & watch another at the same time. I pay $1 a year to use my Fetch Mighty & Mini. Can set recordings on the app from anywhere.

The knowledge Pack channels are showing as free on app so, they must be working free.

        :-)

yeah, Google TV replaced our fetch. i do miss pausing live TV, then fwd thru ads. But I usually just watch catchup or stream live.

      • Can't this be set up with tvmate APK? I've not done it myself. Maybe someone who has can chime in here.

      • Thats the same with us. My GoogleTV replaced our Fetch Box too

    • I do, but I'm regretting it more as time goes on.

      • Why? What's wrong with it?

        • -Hard drive stays on all the time, and you can't swap it for anything (say an ssd). Thats 10watts standby, constantly
-My unit keeps having problems with sleep, where it doesn't display the picture on waking so you have to restart
-Requires a constant wifi connection. Didn't start that way, but latest update has made it that way.
-They moved the media hub. Used to be a logically placed option if you plugged in a usb to watch stuff locally, but now you have to hunt for it.
-Harsh policies. When I first signed up, I initially paid the $1 to get moviebox (hey, why not) using a prepaid card. When the card ran out of money, they immediately locked the box I paid $300 for instead of just disabling moviebox access.
-Can't change abc/7/9/10 streaming settings. I use mobile for internet at home. I'm okay with streaming, but most of the time I don't need fullhd. 480 is fine. But it's stuck on auto

And then there's the data policy. Turns out Fetch is primarily about spying on users for tv show watching habits, which you can't opt out of. Which is probably whats driving the forcing users to keep connected

Mine's wired but are you saying if the internet is off the box stops working???

Not a big fan of the whole repositioning thing either. I agree. Worse when you're watching something that's been recorded, you've finished, for years and years I normally exit then press the red button to delete. Been doing it for years but NOW things actually move so when I exit the show I've finished watching the show under the cursor is not necessarily the one I was watching and I delete the wrong thing. Yes I can undelete but it's so annoying and illogical who came up with moving all the stuff around? Driving me nuts.

That is weird - I bought the box outright and have bought things to watch occasionally but never had the box locked. Crazy.

Yeah agree things are getting worse not better but still the best thing I can think of to record FtA. I use my smart tv/chromecast for most other things.

    • Yes!

    • +1

Yes. It was part of the bundle when I first connected to the NBN.
I'm not seeing anything in the Knowledge Pack that interests me.

  • Surprisingly on my box all premium channels are showing for free.

    • +1

If you got it from Telstra , you 3 month of free premium channels.

      • My box was bought outright from Fetch

  • I've still go my Fetch Box with no subscriptions. Can I still watch the Knowledge pack for free?

    • +1

I don't have any Fetch subs and it is showing for me

    • +1

      Yes!

      • Thank you. I'll go plug the Fetch box in and check it out

  • +1

Just shows $6 for me when I go to knowledge pack.

    • Check you have latest updates.

      • Running 3.35.2 Floribunda

        • I thought I would have to add pack to fetch box however the knowledge pack channels just appear in channel list automatically ready for viewing.

@Thrifty123: Yes As per Deal Description
"Just choose a channel from the TV Guide and start watching" FREE!

But nothing of real interest to me.

  • +1

Got a free one from Telstra and flogged it off for 40 bucks

  • As long as it's still activated yes turn it on and the channels should be there, as long as the latest software is installed.

  • +3

    The firmware names lol

  • I wonder if they'll be anything to do near the end of April, to avoid being charged for May?

    • You dont need to do anything to get this free package for April, the channels are available in the EPG.

If however you have subscribed to the package in April from the Fetch box or the Fetch website, then you will be charged for it, and if you dont unsubscribe you will be charged again for May.

    • you don't have to subscribe to the channel pack, so no risk of getting charged. just tune in and enjoy!

Can’t beat a quad tuner with Plex DVR for FTA in my opinion with auto/manual skip.

    • As cheap as $79 like the Fetch Mighty triple tuner Deals were here??
