  • Wtf, are they trying to one up Sony with those ridiculous names?

I think there are better Dewalt options in this price range, especially if you are willing to wait for a deal. The kit with the dcf850, dcd805, and powerstacks is better in every way and seems to go on special every few months for a similar amount. The tools in this kit aren't anywhere near as good as their flagship models and performance and size wise not even comparable to their current atomic models.

    • thanks for the feedback, would you have link for the powerstacks deal? its like $699 at bunnings now. would love to grab that if it ever went on sale at bunnings, i have powerpass too so would be sweet

      • Currently $479 at Sydney Tools but was on special last week for around $420ish. No telling when it will be on special again, unfortunately. Comes with a bonus powerstack battery, though, which is a big plus.

        • I reckon i can wait for the 420 price again then get my local bunnings to pricematch or maybe just get from sydney tools.

    • Thanks for the feedback, do you think this offer from SydneyTools will serve much better than the one posted above?

Yeah, that's a much better deal. The 840 is well reviewed and pretty much the same performance as the 850, 845, and 887. It doesn't have the speed selector but still has a variable speed trigger.

The only downside is you only get one battery, but that shouldn't be too big of a deal breaker considering a 5ah lasts a long time on these tools and it will only take a little over an hour to charge from empty to full.

If you need them, extra batteries are easy enough to get with discounted kits and redemptions. I have I think 12 batteries and 5 chargers and I've only ever got them with my tool purchases. For that same reason, there are usually plenty of new batteries on Marketplace for $100 or less.

  • Sad the battery redemption loophole is no more. Should have bought another 5Ah battery for my Dyson V8 from the last offer.

The multi tool and angle grinder rarely come on sale, been waiting for ages!
