Crazy good deal @KiwiBloke, JB about to get a lot of orders from this post :)

Edit: Showing stock at Macquarie Centre and Sydney delivery centre

  • Can't find any stock near my location :(

[edit] doesn't appear to be any stock in metro melbourne. Anyone had any luck?

  • Same, no stock and no option for delivery.

  • +1

    Oh it's here!

  • Nice, saw Videopro drop too, no stock / delivery to me so waiting for Appliance Central before jumping :)

  • Shit, bought it two weeks ago and haven't unboxed yet.

    • JB hi fi has 100% change of mind return policy within 30 days if unboxed. Just return it and purchase another

  • +1

    fml..bought at 1799 2 weeks ago from jb.. can i get post-price-match…?

    • Same here! I haven't even unboxed yet due to no TV unit :(

      • +1

Set that sucker up on the floor!

    • Yeah I believe it's a month at JB to do that.

      • Yes correct 1 month.

      • legend! any tips of how i request for a "price match" to them? nvr did that before…

        • +1

Just ask. Either in store or maybe online chat. Give receipt number and they will acknowledge it. I've never done it either.

      • It's 14 days they just said on live chat.

        • It was 30 days at end November when I bought mine. Must have changed it 😕

          • @teereb: Apparently it's "always been 14 days." I called and asked my local store as well. 30 days is for long sales like Black Friday not 1 day sales.

            • @dontbeatightarse: Ahhh, okay then.

Fair enough, I was looking and that's why I bought mine last day of that November sale, so it would be viable for a boxing day sale; which want cheaper anyway.
              Cheers!

              • @teereb: I have successfully requested a partial refund. They said the gift card would be available in my inbox in 1-3 days. I tried to forward the transcript to my inbox but it didn't work. Now I'm a little bit worried…

                • +1

@tadinhah: Worst case can go on store, they should be able to look up and see a gift card number perhaps.

How much more did you pay then this. Still a great tv for the price I'd say.

                  • @teereb: I paid $1765 ($1685 after gift card). Still in box waiting for the TV unit to come.

    • Me too 😭😭😭

  • +1

Nowhere to click and collect in Perth. Gonna see if anyone else will price match…

  • +6

I bought this TV in November for $2000 and really rate it. Does a good job unscaling normal netflix and the HD10 and Dolby vision looks good too. Interface is clunk but ok. Motion on sport isn"t flash - probably only short-coming. Couldn't wait for 855 which will have better pentonic chip.

    • +2

Have you turned off the motion things in settings? I found there were a lot of artifacts watching sport but disabled everything motion related and it's a lot better.

      • +2

I find setting blur reduction and judder reduction to 4 gives the best balance.

      • -6

        No answer means no.

I'm pretty sure it's known to turn off all the faux ai motion settings to get the best picture.

If you don't know that, you shouldn't be reviewing this tv.

I say that as a potential buyer that's been creeping on this tv for the last 3 months.

        • That isn't going to help the fact that their motion processing is inferior to a brand like Sony (for example). This has been mentioned on HDTVtest, AVForums, flatpanelsHD, etc and not just an opinion of theirs.

    • hey I was wondering what do you think of the VA panel on this tv? they are known for bad viewing angles and colour shifting beyond 20 degrees viewing. How have you found it?

  • Will we get the same C855 of this global version? https://www.tcl.com/global/en/tvs/c855
    The specs look really good.

    • QD-Mini LED is going to look magnificent with 3500nits peak brightness.

  • Goodguys still has this for $2295. I wonder they will beat it. Not in stock near me though..

  • +1

Thanks OP great price for a mini led TV !

  • Wow, now be price. I bought last week at $1765 at JB. Can I contact them for a price match credit or something?

    • +2

Yeah, I mentioned above as well.
Jb give 4 weeks to adjust the price of they beat it in that time.

Think you get store gift card or something

      • +1

Apparently they've refunded the difference. It's in the mail….

        • Hey congrats!

  • How many TVs can one buy

    • +2

How many rooms in your home, you can include laundry and bathroom

  • +1

Excellent deal, repeat of boxing day, if anyone is one the fence to buy a quality 75" this is it, dont think twice. I waited and waited, finally settled on a Sony KD-75X85L FALD, very happy with it but nevertheless I would purchased this for this price since I missed out the Boxing day deal. I have seen this TV in many shops and it its spectacular, super dark blacks, unbelivable clarity. Just hook it with Amazon 4K or 4K Max Firestick or Google Chromecast 4K.

    • Why do you want to hook up a Google Chromecast 4K? It already comes with Google TV.

      • Better processing I heard. I have a 65 inch and it's fine for me though, so might be more of an optional upgrade

      • The weak link is the processing, that an external device solves keeping your main TV OS basic.

      • Same reason I use nvidia shield on my LG, better iamge processing/upscaling/response etc etc

    • i thought abt getting a nvidia shield pro for it, but i've heard the 4k scaling on this is great. 4k upscaling aside, i do want a buttery smooth interface though, i'm not sure the internal processor will be able to cut it.

      • How bout an apple TV box

      Shill post

      • +1

Huh? Just sharing my opinion and recommendation, nothing for me to gain

  • +1

spoke to a jb hifi rep, none in stock in most stores because they're waiting on the final shipments of the C845s before it gets superseded by the C855. also another reason why its priced so low.

does anyone know if i paid for it now, but choose not to go ahead with the order when stock arrives, that i'm able to get a full refund?

    • +1

If you don't take delivery surely you can get a refund. Even otherwise there will be enough demand to on sell it to cover your costs including shipping.

  • +1

Finally caved in and decided to put an order.

  • If only you could price match online at binglee, apply their 10% site wide code and extra 2% code on this! Anyone know if it's even remotely possible?

  • No delivery to FNQ. FS.

  • I hope this will fit in the back of my Kluger

  • +1

Stock is dried up almost everywhere in Melbourne Metro. Preston and Maribyrnong have stock @ HN if someone wants to PM tomorrow.

  • Anybody care to share perks voucher if not using?

  • Very good price for a very good TV.

  • are these the best TCL models?

    • +1

      Best available on Australia maybe.

But they do have their top tier 9xx series. I haven't seen them on display, but might be able to get them here as well?

  • +1

i managed to buy one heading into a store and just speaking to someone. paid $1,566 after perks, delivery supposedly in 2 weeks.

  • -1

Lota big screens getting reduced - cavemen already purchased maybe . Prices may fall as TCL has released impressive upgraded models overseas .

  • is it worth extra $800 to get the 85" model? really struggling with make a call…it is 50% more after all….

    • Absolutely. You’ll only regret not buying it later. I need an 85” as well and man am I close to giving the C845 a shot.

      • thanks mate, the other reasons that 75" sounds tempting apart from price are:
        1. higher contrast ratio (7000:1 vs 5000:1)
        2. higher brightness (800 Nits vs 500 Nits)

        • +1

Yeah, I noticed that too. I suspect it has something to do with the amount of dimming zones between the 2. Honestly, whilst it sounds like a lot on paper, you’ll be hard pressed to notice a significant difference IRL. I went with a 75” and regret not going 85”. Don’t be me lol.

        • +1

I also forgot to mention the reported peak brightness is in a 100% window. Obviously, they’re much brighter than this in a 2 or 10% window.

    • +2

Depends what size you're upgrading from. I currently have a 65" and I'm worried going to 75" won't feel like a huge jump compared to 85.

In saying that the difference in clarity from my current TV has me very tempted.

      • hahaha I'm doing exactly the same (ie. upgrading from a 65"). Also thought of the same issue of not big enough of an upgrade…

    • -1

$800 for 10 inches more, not much value there. Currently 75" is the sweet spot. At 85" you will need bigger stands if not mounting. Personally I'd buy the 75"

  • Still looking at upgrading my Panasonic 65 OLED to a 77-inch, but there doesn't seem to be any OLED's that have both DV and HDR10 like my Panasonic. There are a few LED's and Micro LED's , but I just can't go back to LED's after having an OLED for about 4 years.

    • +2

All TV's that support DV support HDR10.

      • +1

        My bad, I meant HDR10+

  • Thanks OP, great TV been waiting for this.

Can someone DM me a perks code if not using? Will greatly appreciate!

    • Your profile wont accept new conversations but here you go 92IV3QT8GDY6ZZ

  • +2

For anyone who want to see the difference between 75" vs 85" side by side, you can see it in this video (at around 2min mark) https://youtu.be/48zG_wKlXdI?si=ia_GFuJS4OLr3_2X. This video helped me made up my mind… :)

  • I've got another perks voucher, feel free to use 92VUGTOOGXOVVM

  • My only experience with TCL was a few years ago and the user interface was terrible. Processing was so slow when opening apps which made it almost unusable. Are these newer models more user friendly?

    • +1

These newer TCLs are a completely different league to TCLs of a few years ago.

      • I still think the interface is a bit dodgy- I can't work out how to add a channel to favorites. anyone know how to do this please?

        • Bit rough you got a downvote. I'm pretty good with tech stuff and bought my mum the 50inch 845 and I spent a good 30min trying to work out the same thing. I had to leave and haven't been back but I probably would have given up anyway.

Edit, might have got the downvote because the commenter above was referring to the processor and opening apps which is much different than the organisation of the GUI.

          • @cv05: I bought it for my mum as well. honestly I've tried a few times to figure it out and can't get it to work. the screen itself is brilliant.

  • I have a 2022 TCL c727 75”, how does this compare to that?

  • +1

Tried getting HN, Good Guys and Appliances Online to price match but no luck so far…public holiday is making things tough. If anyone in Melb Metro has any luck today getting an order through I would love to hear how.

    • After some persistence I managed to get appliances online to price match but they tacked on a delivery fee because the "price wasnt available in my post code". Whatever, happy with $1646 as the final price and I was able to schedule a delivery when I wanted.

      • I would have gone with Appliances Online. They are great to deal with. Delivery with AO is top notch, they'll keep you updated until half an hour before they arrived, unlike Bing lee.

        • Couldnt agree more, AO are far superior. Glad they agreed to price match it. I tried bing lee as well but no one online due to the public holiday I suspect.

      • How much is delivery with AO?

        • They added $50 to the JB price for delivery, so $1646 total. A bit higher but still a great deal.

        • Only an extra 20 bucks. It's nothing for peace of mind delivery.
