Officeworks have dropped the price on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (Black) to $415 - this is the cheapest I've seen either at a brick and mortar retailer or online (that's not grey import) in the past couple of weeks.

wait until something goes wrong and you have to deal with Samsung Service Centre.

missed that deal, JB have it reduced in current catalogue to $519, I tried to match online somewhere to $470 with them and the guy wanted to match with an open box, factory reset return that they had 🤣

I'm currently still using a Samsung Gear S3 - Frontier that I bought back in November 2018, with no issues with it (battery even still lasts ~3 days), so hopefully this is a similar experience.

    • I can concur with Samsung Service Au, watch strap broke after 6 months of use with a known design defect that was recalled overseas … Watch strap is classed as an accessory and not covered by the 2 year warranty. neither Telstra or Samsung would assist in any way or offer any sort of assistance.

Z4 fold showed a visible crack within the crease from light use and they said as there was no screen protector it was not covered.. would give me a free protector install over the top.

  • I would expect LTE for that price.

Same, still rocking the Gear S3 Frontier. It's been faultless and goes the distance for a few days. Just hesitant to dunk it under water. Samsung are only offering $5 trade in so there's no point getting rid of it.

  • I was in JB hi-fi yesterday to get a replacement for my in-warranty Fitbit, and they wouldn't go lower than $519 for this watch as "it's already heavily discounted dude" and Amazon AU was higher. (Amazon Global was cheaper but they won't price match).

I nearly gave up when I noticed the Officeworks price and he conceded.

So far so good, but the fact they only supply a USB-C to watch adapter (no USB-A plug/adapter nor wall adapter) is a bit annoying though.

    • If you are using Samsung phone, your phone should be able to reverse charge the watch in emergencies

Same here.. Still using S3 Frontier.. with Fossil Leather Strap.. Going strong with the battery too… Got brand new from a friend back then for around $120 :)

  • I just picked up a new, unopened 6 Pro with LTE for $350 on marketplace. Loads for sale with people that got them free with the new Samsung phone.

    • no 6 pro out, you probably got a 6.

      • The 6 Classic is the 'pro' version. Plenty of them for sale for ~$350

  • To all those legends still rocking the S3 i upgraded to the s24+ and was met with this unfortunate message.

    Notice
    Dear Gear S3 customers,
According to the service operation policy, Gear S3 does not support interworking with its mobile phones that will be released after 2024 This decision has been made based on the judgment that the existing service quality cannot be maintained through app updates alone. Please be aware of this when changing your mobile phone in the future. If you have any further questions, please contact our call centre (http://samsung.com/support) Samsung members or http://help.content samsung.com and we'll take you through it.

And was not able to set it up. And havent found a fix yet.

Lame excuse for not linking, i get no more updates for the watch but no reason it cant still sync. Except for forcing upgrades if course.

I don't have a Samsung phone (have a Google Pixel 7 Pro), so haven't had had that issue, but that's a but that's a bit crap by them.
