Just quietly, Pepsi Max is the best soft drink on Earth

    • -2

      Best cola on Earth.

Sarsaparilla is the best soft drink on Earth.

    • Correct Opinion

    • -2

      Wrong.
      Normal Pepsi is.
Normal Pepsi is at least 3 times better than coke and 1.5 times better than Max.

I used to be on this wagon, but when the price shot up a couple of years ago I gave La Ice No Sugar a go for a few bottles. By the end of it I was convinced that I preferred the LA Ice.

The LA Ice is sadly not in supermarkets at the moment due to the nationwide CO2 shortage, but it will be back once that's resolved. Company indicated to me a few weeks ago that their guess was April.

      • +2

When LA Ice first came out in the 90s it was amazing. It changed in the 2000s but.

        • I think it came out in 2000 not 90s.

Can't even get Coles brand tonic water at my local at the moment. The gin in my cupboard has never been safer, but the rum is very nervous

      • +1

Plenty of LA ice regular and no sugar at woolies…

    • +1

It's pretty good, I don't mind either coke no sugar or pepsi max but pepsi maxdoes have a clear taste advantage where coke no sugar is pretty light in the flavour department.

    • -1

lol, anything with fake sugar in it is rubbish. Can't see why Pepsi Max would be any different.

Pepsi Max is out of stock for me,

edit : actually, all of them are out of stock.

It’s just you. Uncle Bezos put you on his naughty list.

    • In stock for me

    • +1

      This is weird.

If I log out, I can see that it is in stock for O.P.'s price.

      I can add to cart.

If I then set location, without logging in, it shows out of stock.

But, I can go to the cart, log in, and it will still accept payment…

      WTH…

      • +1

That worked for me as well. Was even able to get the Viva paper towels that was saying was out of stock for me too. Not sure if it's a bug, or something?

        Both are evil !
However Amazon does free delivery and is cheaper …

    i love aspartame

    • Thankfully pepsi haven’t put it in any of their full sugar drinks, like coke have. i can’t stand the taste of it

    • It looks pretty good if you get the original (other than the acidity that still kills your teeth)

      Pepsi regular

Carbonated Water , Sugar , Caramel Color , Phosphoric Acid , Caffeine , Flavour (Natural)

      Vs Pepsi max

Carbonated Water , Caramel Color , Aspartame , Phosphoric Acid , Sodium Benzoate , Caffeine , Flavour (Natural) , Citric Acid , Acesulfame Potassium

    Me: Damn inflation…

Also me: annnnyway…buys several cartons 😂

Oof…77c a can on sale. (67c if you have can refund scheme and do it)

  • Was 50c per can a normal price before?

    • Back in the day

  • $3 back from recycling.

  • +9

As someone who delivers Amazon packages, it'll be a workout for the next 7 days. The people who orders this usually lives at the top floor of an apartment or the last row of townhouses. Pretty happy if it's the Amazon toilet paper sale.

    • +2

Thank you for your hard work.

  • Apparently Coke tastes "ok"?

  • The 10c tax added recently in Vic is annoying. The cans were going in the recycling bin previously and they're still going there since I'm not wasting my time at below minimum wage rate to take them to the local woolies. End results cans still getting recycled just the same as before, I've paid $3 extra on a 30 pack, can collection operator pockets a chunk of money, and I'm guessing the supermarkets also pocket some money for cashing the vouchers in.

Its different for states who had it grandfathered in from before household recycling bins were a thing, why this gets introduced in 2024 in Vic is beyond me.

    • +1

Put up your cans on a buy nothing group and others will gladly take them from you to cash themselves or give the raised money to charity 👍

      • But thats more effort than just putting it in my recycling bin.

        • +3

Life is a struggle sometimes but just suck it up and do it. 👍 The charity groups I work with really enjoy getting this extra income stream to pump back into their community who are in hard times.

    • The stupid thing is you can’t crush your cans.

They take an absurd amount of space.

    • What 10c tax are we talking about? I thought it was a 10c refund?

      • You pay 10c extra per can when you buy it, then you get a 10c refund if you return it to a collection point. So best case scenario you waste your time to break even. Worst case scenario you're paying a 10c tax per can.

You didnt notice all the things you can get the 10c refund on went up in price overnight when it was introduced?

  • +1

Solo 30 can is $23 at Woolworths.

    • Thanks, only drink Solo from Pesi Co.

  • 67c per can and they sell for a few dollars at most of restaurants

  • Pepsi is often selling much cheaper than Coca Cola. Is really because majority of people prefer to drink Coca cola?

    • Coke worldwide market share is 48% and Pepsi is 20.5% so Pepsi need to undercut Coke to grow market share. In my opinion, those figures don't tell the true preference of people's taste for cola drinks as Coke has many fast food businesses and restaurants locked into exclusive deals which skews the data. As for me, I always order Pepsi Max at every restaurant and fast food outlet and if they say they only have Coke I say "that's a pity, I'll just have water then". That's probably because I'm a cranky old git.

    • Pepsi is sold by Japan's Asahi in Oz, and Japanese corporate culture tends to be risk averse and conservative. They also tend to prioritise low cost, low selling price to capture volume and market share over maximising profits and shareholder returns. My guess is Asahi managers don't want to risk raising prices and see it backfire by people switching to Coke instead.

  • Haha. I feel Pepsi Max tastes a bit of sweeter than Coca zero.

  • Douchebag Amazon courier attempted to leave this at my neighbour’s house two doors down and drop and run… my neighbour yelled out through their screen door “hey we didn’t order that” and the courier picked it up and dropped it at our door.

First time in two years I’ve had a douchebag delivery experience…

  • Got mine delivered with expiry of May 24. Its the same expiry as the ones i ordered in December… old logo…

Does anyone else have the problem that when they order soft drinks from Amazon they are very low on Fizz? Don't think they get handled with too much care during shipping..
