    $521.55 with OW PBG: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/google-pix…
Not bad but I’ll bite at $500 flat.

    • +3

Too late, OW have price dropped it

  • Anyone having issues with NFC ?

I bought this from the JB sale 2 weeks ago, it works ~50% of the terminals I have tried. Google wallet is updated etc

Problem exists even with the case taken off so it's not that

  • +7

I've been using NFC for payments everyday since this came out at launch and had maybe 1 in 10 fail, so I put it down to the shitty POS terminals rather than the phone.

  • Pixel 8 Pro also on sale for anyone interested, down to $1299 (same as Telstras deal which just expired) https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/google-pixel-8-pro-5g-128…

  • Thanks OP. Bought one for dad.

  • Been very happy with samsung, had a couple of s8 and now s10, but keen to explore other possibilities. Can this be one of them or better stick to samsung?

    • +2

Give it a try. It has some interesting features like Call screening and Hold for me and Google Assistant works better in controlling various aspects of the phone. I find Samsung better in terms of customisation if you know what you're doing with GoodLock.
Personally, it's the shitty hardware that made me sell my Pixel 7. The thing overheated like crazy, had poor standby battery life. After switching to iPhone 15 Pro and now S24 Ultra, the build quality is much better. Might be worth waiting for a Pixel 9 or 10.

      • Thanks 👌 yea overheating and short battery life don't make it worth for me. Might wait and see indeed. Ive been away from flashing roms etc for a looong time (samsung just works hey) but I had a lot of fun back in the day (when htc made good phones).. maybe time to get back to it and fiddle with what I have while saving for something better in the future.

  • I have a Samsung S10e from 2020 that works very well other than declining battery life. Is this a decent upgrade or just a small improvement?

Do a spec comparison on GSMarena for more context to help decide: https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9537&idPhone2…

    • +1

Bezels are pretty wide on this thing and the build quality will feel cheaper, the S10e was such a great phone. Camera wise this will be miles ahead but you could say the same with other new flagships e.g. S23/S24.
You could go for a second hand S23 which is pretty much the same phone as the S24, or if you prioritise the small form factor (sub 6" screen) look into ASUS zenfones.

  • Amaysim $499 cheaper than this deal?

    • Even at $50 - seems unlikely - you're still with Amaysim

  • General question on ppl with overheating issues on this and many modern phones. Is it when you game on them? I don't ever seen to have issues but don't game on my mobile at all.

  • Thanks OP. Got from JB for $522 using $10 perks sign up and 3% shopback $500 giftcard

  • I got JB to price match Amaysim for $499 and used a $10 new member join coupon. Paid $489 in total.

    • Did you get the price match online or in store? Online chat told me they can't match

      • +2

In store. I told salesperson, if you price match Amaysim, I'll buy it right now. He was hesitant as first, but spoke to his manager and approved the price match.

  • Thanks for this. I just got a new car that supports wireless charging but neither my or my wife's current phones (Pixel 6a and Pixel 5a) supports it.

Ordered last night and the price went back up $200 this morning!

  • Yeah, looks like this deal is no more

  • Op should update as expired!

  • Deal back on

  • asking it online, but it is refused to price match Amaysim for $499
