[NSW] 20% off Ramses: Gold of The Pharaohs Exhibition Mon-Thu from $34.40 + $4.95 Fee @ Australian Museum via Ticketmaster

640
WILSONP20

Wilson Parking customers can save 20% off for any Monday to Thursday exhibition session until 28 March 2024. Use code WILSONP20.

Make sure you enter code after selecting the date/session you want. I don't see how they could check to see if you've parked at Wilson Parking.

I haven't been but it's been recommended to wait until school holidays are over so you're not tripping over kids running amok. Also the organisers let too many people in per session so photos might be tough for peak periods, not to mention personal space.

Another recommendation is to go to the evening sessions for less crowds.

Went on a Saturday evening and it was still super busy. Couldn't see everything properly. Good exhibition but wow the price is steep. Ended up signing up for dual AM membership with a family member for not much more which comes with tickets to the exhibit. Haven't checked out the members lounge yet but apparently there are complimentary refreshments in there. This is a good price with 20% off though.

    • Sounds like a good deal for people that work remote

"The Members Lounge has a small kitchenette with a microwave for bottle warming and reheating lunches. Tea and Coffee making facilities and free wifi are also available in the Members Lounge."

    "Everyone is dancing, happy, party,
But Ramses is not dancing, he does not dance at the party.
At night I play my games, I go to sleep, I think of Ramses".

      Ramses number 1
He sets the world on fire

      • Pour one out for Ramses :(

Went last week when I was in Sydney, it was so crowded to the point that I felt the whole thing was a freaking waste of money and time. I think I managed to see about 30-40% of the stuff briefly before being pushed over.

Also it was a pretty short exhibition with less stuffs than I was expecting. I remembered the King Tutankhamun one in Melbourne was much bigger in scope.

I had more fun looking at their free collections outside LOL.

Sounds like a typical event in Sydney. Overcrowded and overpriced.

Not really surprised, last week was probably peak time for families to take all their little snotlings to anything in Sydney.

I'd personally never go to something like this in school holidays for that reason…

    • C’mon mang, people are dying to get into the exhibit.

Thought the exhibition was okay, went midday so not as crowded but not amazing as I assumed.

  • I used this code last week. Was never asked for any proof that I parked with Wilson (I had, for what it's worth).

  • ffs literally booked for tmr…would have just gone thursday next week instead -.-

Anyone who has been know how long you'd need to see it all?

    • +2

I saw it on the opening weekend, depends on how interested you are, I didn't get to stop and look at everything mostly because I was keeping an eye on the kids.

If you hang back a bit and let the crowd move through an area before you go start it you get longer to look. I'd budget maybe 90 mins to 2 hrs.

      • Thanks!

  • Exhibition is on until May

  • Is the VR thing worth pqying extra for or nah?

    • I went to the exhibition with my mate and his kids. He put his kids into the VR thing. 45 min wait for the 12 min experience. Neither of them were cheering about it afterwards so I’m going to say probably not - I believe it’s just a fly around of one of the tombs

    • The missus tried it as she 'hadnt done VR before'. Said it was pretty underwhelming.. given how the exhibit tickets are already quite expensive, I'd probably skip it

  • There is one in Canberra as well. $25 per ticket. I enjoyed that exhibition a lot. Not much crowd, had plenty of exhibits, however, the mummy section had a queue.

Only disappointment was they did not have any weaponry on display.

    • Sacré Lucky Luke!

  • Anyone know if the audio guide is worth it?

For anyone interested in ancient Egyptian. The largest collection in the southern hemisphere is at USyd and it’s FREE :)

    • So far the best tip for 2024!

I went in Late November, the exhibit is good but the amount of people was not. I did get a chance to see everything but be prepared for your personal space to be fully invaded the whole time.

The worst part was these two elderly ladies who had the audio tours on their phone, no headphones but on speaker holding it up to their ears (granted the volume was low-ish), and had to push to the front each time to see what the audio was talking about because I'm assuming they didn't know how to pause it.

I had never been to that museum before and I really enjoyed checking it out, definitely made up for the frustrating experience inside the exhibit.

Why am I getting $41.60 per ticket regardless adding in the code WILSONP20? I have chosen a weekend and followed the instructions i know that there is $5 fee.

    • Based on the OP, needs to be Monday to Thursday

      • Sorry I had typo I did follow my mon - Thursday session and slll showing $40 none have $35.

        • Hmm I tried a January Mon-Thurs date and you're right, it was showing as $41 even with the code used. But then I tried Feb 20, Tuesday and I got $34 so I'm not sure what's going on exactly. I can only suggest keep trying different dates.
