  • Finally apple has stopped making the same phone every year

    • +3

      Yes. By repositioning cameras

  • Wrong link it looks like?

    Edit: Been fixed

  • Why are prev gen iPhones still so expensive? Old model should be around $700

    • +1

because Apple hopes you consider the extra $x to simply get the latest and greatest. Spec wise there's also very little difference between the previous-gen and the new (the same old A15 Bionic chip lives on both the 13 and 14), so the pricing strategy also reflects that.

Making the previous gen too cheap would cannibalize sales of the new model.

    • +2

Because its not in the best interest of apple and its users for the second hand market to have really low prices.

Many rely on the second hand market so they can recoup as much as they can on their initial purchase.

      • Good point. Had not thought of that. Here is me waiting for a previous gen to get cheap enough to upgrade from the 11.

    • Good point. But the second hand market for iPhones does also result in higher prices as does the trade in value directly to Apple. An old model like an iPhone 12 can be obtained for approximately $700.

    14 plus? 1399?

    WTF

    • +3

Exactly, it’s only $100 off RRP.

  • -4

Sorry OP but nothing to be wowed about here.

    • +6

It’s not Ozwowed, there’s money off, so a bargain to be had for someone!

  • +3

May be cheapest but idk if this is a deal

Picked up 14 pro 512gb for 1599 @ Amazon like 2 months ago so $200 less for 128gb 14 plus is a hard buy

    • +1

Yep, here is a link to the deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813557

Despite not helping anyone today, it provides perspective that it really is a hard buy for a difference of $200. The 14+ really needs to drop a lot more than this.

      • +1

Yeah also the capacity is only 1/4 so if this was for 512gb variant it would be more than that deal anyway

  • +1

Bought the same model (14, 128GB) for my daughter a year ago. It was $1234.

Nice discount Apple, nice discount for an year old phone.

JBHifi is also doing the same exact deal - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/apple-iphone-14-128gb-mid…

    • +1

      Yes, but hardly any stock

  • +2

    Nah, underwhelming

  • Hanging out for a 12 deal. Old model prices ridic…

just bought a iphone 14 for $900 ish from ebay. brand new

    • brand new

I can't find sold iPhone for $900 ish from eBay Brand New.

Only refurb and 'Opened, never used'

        • What is a "private ebay sale"?

          • @solidice: Like, an individual selling it. Before ebay gift cards with cashback it was around $1000

        • +1

So how much was it listed for (before the eBay gift cards and discount codes)?

  • Shame I missed on $300 off the EBay Tuesday deals for iPhone 15
