Prices also available in the EPP stores, though without the app extra as I don't think they're accessible in the app.

Crap panel uses 5yr old tech. Dont buy..

    • +28

You're buying it for the form factor - I have a few and they're just fine imo

      • +13

They are actually pretty good all round for the prices that they go down too every now and then but the are the best looking on wall tv you can buy without having to preplan and install in wall goo’s, hdmis etc thanks to the one cable system.

      • If you want to use it as a photo frame , sure. Only good panel to watch content is qdoled and oled or good va panels with lots of local dimming zones.

    • +13

By far Samsung Frame is the best TV at handling reflection and glare. It's suitable when you have lots of windows/lights around . Nothing comes close.

. Weird that Rtings did not rate reflection handling high enough.

      • +3

Weird that Rtings did not rate reflection handling high enough.

While the frame is good at defusing reflections it doesn't have a good (or any??) anti glare coating which cuts reflections/glare like other TVs. It just scatters the light around. For example if you shine a very bright torch at a TV with a good anti glare coating you'll still see a very clear reflection of the light source (i.e: bulb/LED) but at a much reduced intensity, where as if you do that with a frame, while you won't see a clear reflection the whole screen will scatter all the light making the picture washed out. Therefore its not always better, especially when the light sources are not right behind you.

See this RTINGs comparison, scroll down to the reflections section, and see how much light is thrown back at you by the frame.

        • while you won't see a clear reflection the whole screen will scatter all the light making the picture washed out

I personally prefer the picture to look a bit washed out than having clearly visible distracting lights. LG C1 scored higher than The Frame and it annoys me that when I wear light clothes I can see my reflection while watching Batman.

In the comparison link that you sent, I wish they had used a different image for the 'Reflection Picture'.
The smiley woman picture does not have a dark background and It only has 1 light source.

If they have 2 light sources ( ie similar to "Bright Room Off Picture" ) and an image with a dark background we can see how distracting reflection can be.

Therefore its not always better, especially when the light sources are not right behind you.

I dont know about that - JB Hifi has the white fluorescent light above and I still find that LG G3 ( which scored the highest in RTings reflections test ) annoying. This light is not visible at all on The Frame.

          • @Indomietable:

it annoys me that when I wear light clothes I can see my reflection while watching Batman.

Simple solution - only watch Batman in the nude.

lol i jumped in waiting for "its a crap tv" but you beat me to it.

I have 75" Frame and its perfect, mounted on my wall with other pictures around it. Works great as a tv too and internal speakers are more than adequate.

Would buy it as a normal tv at this price.

      Oh but wait…its crap right?

      • I have an existing tv on a mount but it’s not exactly flush against the wall. Is it recommended to get the mount designed for the frame which I assume means you can get a more flush look?

        • +3

It comes with a mount. It sits slightly away at the top like a real picture hanging on the wall.

      • People like them, anything not OLED are crap but they couldn't tell where to find 85" at that price.

        • It’s significantly worse than the C845 which has been cheaper

          • @cille745: 85" C845 at around $3,100? Link please? If you cannot provide a link, it never happened.

It’s significantly worse than the C845 which has been cheaper

            • @superforever: If you take 2 seconds to look it up on OzBargain you’ll see it’s been $2688 a few times

        • Quality over quantity. Can easily get a 65inch oled during sales for around 3k.

      • It's ok if you don't particularly value picture quality, but objectively it's not a very good TV if you do.

    • Can't afford it hey?
Shame, they are an amazing thing to have on the wall. Could do with better speakers but that is the only complaint we have.
We have three. Every single person who walks into the house is amazed by our wall hanging art and i confused as hell when the painting they looked at 15 minutes ago seems different than they thought…..
Great software and User Interface, easy to use remote.
We love them and recommend them.

    • As others have said, anti glare, but it also can be used vertically, so the Gen Z's can watch tik tok and youtube shorts.

  • Are there any other TV's with a matte screen?

    • +2

      TCL C845 85" I believe

      • TCL C845 85" I believe

        Not Matte screen

        • +2

It is matte for the 85 and 97 inch

          • @cille745: I think not that matte like the frame

            • +3

@superforever: I have an 85C845, its not as matte as the frame, but not glossy like the 75” and smaller C845s either. I’d call it semi gloss, the reflections are still quite defined unlike the frame.

              • @opt:

I have an 85C845, its not as matte as

                Not that matte XD

    • no , only tv with no reflection

For what it's worth I paid 1292.99 for the 65" back in February this year… We love it for the look and it does a decent job as a smart TV.

    • +13

Dude has a Delorean! What day in Feb is the sale, and the lotto numbers.

    • +1

I paid ~$2k for the 75" about 6 months ago too when samsung had a sale on.

  • +2

got 55" for $1200 around a year ago - and then 2021 model 65" for $900 thanks to loyalty discounts.. these are amazing TV's. great for gaming, too (with Xbox Series X)

Seems like the 2024 version might be announced next week at CES. Apparently the 2023 version didn't receive many changes compared to the 2022.

    • +2

Most sizes didn’t get a 2023 release, so yeh hopefully ripe for a 2024 update - particularly improved local dimming etc etc. let’s see what CES brings

    • 2023 upgrade was simply the metre screen

  • +2

Shame the oak frame attachment isn't available.
I bought a 65" to blend in with similar framed art but can't get the attachment to make it look like it does in all their advertising. No stock anywhere and no plans to replenish.

  • Thanks for sharing.
    Is installation service included?

  • +8

most students would need 85" QLED 2022 edition for their studies.

    • I just bought two of Samsungs 43" Smart Monitors for our desktop gaming PC's. :D

Wonderful additions to our Smartthings household.

  • You should be able to get a further 10% off first use of Samsung app

    Offer is now only 5%

  • Shucks been waiting for this tv to go on sale but can’t justify paying 55" $1574.25 when I bought a 55” Hisense tv in 2018 on eBay for $800 - need the kids to break current tv then maybe I can buy? lol

Or perhaps just wait a couple more years to get later version when it goes on sale (but doubt it would get any cheaper considering everything is fken expensive)

I bought a bunch of the 2022 frames last year with the free bezel promotion from Jbs. From memory i had them price match the samsung store so i could use my tcn / ultimate 15% discounted gift cards.

Have to say awesome tv for the money and its nice they also include the wall mounts. Just recently had them all wall mounted and loving the matt display for reflections.

    65" $1226-15%= $1042
    75" $1740-15%= $1479
    85" $2540-15%= $2159

    Photos of them mounted

Also picked up the Q990C Soundbar for $950-15%=$807.50

    • Check your insta - you got 3 of those tv?? 😱

Silly question but where’s all the power cables? Was expecting to see at least 1 coming down? And then how do you connect other cables like antennas or if you had Amazon Firefox thingy etc?

      • +1

I think these TV's have the one connect box which means you only have a single cable from the TV down to a box below where all peripherals (and power) connects to. Great idea assuming it works as intended.

      • Have 4 of them 😅
I have all my power points / aerials behind the tv units.

If you look at the 3rd photo you can see the one connect box in the middle cabinet. Then just one small cable from the box to the tv.

  • +1

So basically sucks as a TV but looks good on your wall?

    • I don’t think it would suck, I’m sure it’ll have good resolution plus tv quality is based on antenna quality and tv channel quality being broadcasted?

    • +3

It’s a good tv that looks great on your wall. I have both an lg c2 and a frame and they both suit their purposes very well.

If you just want a tv then go with something else. But if you want it to fit in with the decor of a room then the frame can be the ultimate choice.

    • Mediocre TV that looks good on your wall I'd say.

Samsung look to be releasing new models and will do a press release on the 8th of January.

Approx 30% of TV mode according to Yahoo.

  • +1

What’s the discounted price on a 32” frame tv? Can’t see without creating an account

    • Also keen to know.

  • +2

Used one of these for a month in an Airbnb last year.

    Pros:
    - Looks great on the wall.
    - Art display stuff looks really good
    - Picture of tv was good and sound was decent
    - Matte finish was good with reflections, even on very sunny days with some skylights and high windows throwing light everywhere.

    Cons:
    - Software buggy. I mean real strange.
    - Tv would turn off randomly and couldn't get it back on for a few minutes or sometimes hours…
    - Sound would disappear - had to turn off and on to get back.
    - Another time sound stayed but picture disappeared.
    - Twice I couldn't turn the tv off! Tried for 20mins. In the end it just stayed on the art mode all night. I had to turn all the brightness settings right down but was still lighting up the whole house…
    - One time the tv decided to turn on at 4am all by itself and couldn't turn it off.
    - HDMI switching was slow and often would not work. Have to switch to different HDMI and back.
    - streaming was patchy and stop/start (could have been their internet but didn't notice it on other devices)
    - tv would flash off and back on (2-5 very annoying seconds) then be signing back into some account multiple times a day

Software was you to date but maybe it was bad release. Not my tv so maybe setup poorly and different software would help. Not sure if it was 2021 or 2022 model.

I really wanted to like the tv but have never had anything so randomly buggy that I couldn't work out. I think maybe they were logged in to the software and have the same log in at another house and they cause havok with each other (my best guess as to the issues).

    • +3

Sounds like somebody had a faulty TV, so they put it in their airbnb.

      • +2

Is that what you would do? Risk damaging your expensive Airbnb's rating rather than using warranty return?

        • Probably not if it's my expensive Airbnb and the TV is still on warranty. But it might be not, given Frames have been around for many years.

    • Sounds lie you had a faulty TV.

  • Meme television. Get a C845.

  • Any word if the 2024 models will have proper mini led panels that would make them competitive in PQ? Otherwise thinking the 83" G4 (yes I realise will cost more).

  • +1

had the 75" on special for over a year now. mainly got it for the gimmick but knew what I was in for for the price ($1750) and willing to risk it.
I had to play around with the picture settings to get the right one for about a month, the ghosting was awful but finally got there.
the HDMI connection I think is a little rough, ie. PS5 sometimes having to re-establish connections, the worst is the soundbar (Bose) - not sure if it's the soundbar or the tv, but sometimes it just won't connect, had to turn off dolby atmos to make it to work (which beats the purpose), and on Netflix when playing the next episode for example, sound wouldn't come out at all and had to go back and play to get the sound back on.
oh and they way they hook you up to subscription for the wallpapers….
    good tv, not great.

    • Grab the Samsung soundbar and they connect perfectly.

  • +1

    We love ours.
Could do with better speakers but that is the only complaint we have.
We have three. Every single person who walks into the house is amazed by our wall hanging art and i confused as hell when the painting they looked at 15 minutes ago seems different than they thought…..

We love them and recommend them.

  • What’s the best way to hide the connect box? Any good recess fits that people can recommend to go behind the tv? Cant go into roof or other side of wall, and no cabinet below.

    • +1

The include One Connect cable is 5m long. 15m cable is available to purchase separately. You can hide the cable in the wall or ceiling and go as far as the cable length. Be creative on where you can put the box.

      • +1

And the box runs quite hot.

  • Calling a tech 'Q' LED, is just blatantly rude. Most people see it and just assume it's 'O' LED with the similar look.

    • +1

Except the Q stands for Quantum, as in Quantum Dot which is the screen technology.

      • OLED = a display technology not owned or developed by any particular company
QLED = trademarked jargon invented by Samsung's marketing division, commonly (but not exclusively) used to refer to LED backlit displays that use quantum dot technology to make up for some (but not all) of the shortcomings of LED displays vs. OLED

        • QLED = trademarked jargon invented by Samsung's marketing division,

LG trademarked QLED before Samsung did.

used to refer to LED backlit displays that use quantum dot technology

          Yea that's right
The Q stands for Quantum, as in Quantum Dot which is the screen technology.

          QD-LED for the proper acronym
          Or
QLED because it's more appealing to consumers

  • How you do get extra 10% with Samsung app

    • only for first time Samsung app purchase

  • Im pretty sure you dont need an 85 inch tv for studies

  • -2

From experience… these frame tvs are trash. Avoid at all costs. You can read my one star review on Product Review in regards to all the problems and design issues.

    • +1

It's rated pretty good at rtings, 7.9 overall and 8.4 for HDR gaming. Also many users gave it good ratings. I personally ordered the 75" one, coming soon, for the possible wow lifestyle factor as I intend to have lots of different art pieces to suit my mood and ambience.

      • -1

I wish you the best, i did connect mine to my pc, the refresh rate is horrendous. Seems these reviews based on gaming are all horse crap !

        • +2

When they talk about gaming they are talking Xbox and Playstation, not hooking up your PC to the TV, A TV doesn't come close to good gaming monitors for refresh rate and latency.

  • The new model screen is so much better that it is crazy. I wouldn't buy the previous model, not matter how cheap.

  • Paid $1800 for 75 inch and absolutely love it. Not sure why it's being called a crap tv. It's fantastic.

  • -1

Great TV to buy if your electricity bill is just too low!

  • damn every post of these tempts me! Not for a size this big but I'd love to replace a crappy old 40" I have in a room that would be better without a tv with a smaller one of these..
Suspect the effort to clean up the wall and flush mount is the tough bit though!
