You're forced to login in this Melvor Idle game… It's an idle game… why log into anything?? uninstalled.

    • +6

It's cross platform - you can play from your phone or computer - signing in allows you to keep your progress between devices

      • +2

No I get that. I just don't find it necessary to force you to login before you can even make a decision whether you'd even want to crossplay the game or not…

The browser version is free and probably better if you don't want an idle game taking up your top played on Steam.

Played this over 2 years ago and got 99 in all skills and I still only have 65% completion because in order to fully complete the game you need to collect every item, get each individual abilities inside of skills to max mastery and a bunch of other stuff.

Browser version is only a demo now I believe. Once you buy the full game on epic/steam, and create an accuount to sync progress, you should be able to play full game on ios/android without ads

Ah I must have played prior so my account was upgraded automatically.

        Thanks for correcting me.

    • Hitting 99 skills is where the fun begins! I've almost 100%'d my second hardcore character. Such a fun idle game.

      • Played any other good idle games? I started with SS13 before finding out it was inspired by Melvor.

        • IdleOn is 👌🏻

        • Looks very similar! I'll save it to check out once I'm burnt out on Melvor, thanks!

This game is basically a direct copy of OldSchool Runescape except without an overworld to traverse between activities. Instead you just navigate menus.
It is still a fairly satisfying experience watching number go up.
Just know what you are getting into.

    • Do you need to commit lots of time to this or just play when you want?

I have played a few gachas/idle games in the past, but now trying to spend my time wisely

        Most skills are pretty hands-off.
There can be some fiddly moments early on while getting yourself in a state to afk semi-efficiently.
If you're not trying to min-max to the extreme, it is quite chill and non-naggy.

Make sense given how the creator of the game is Jagex (the creators of runescape).

      • Jagex is the publisher.

        It's developed by an individual.
