    Wall mountable?

    • +1

      no

    • +3

Heat pump dryers are too heavy to wall mount, so they don't suit everyone…despite the specs above saying 0kg!

    • +2

No heatpump dryers will be, they are too heavy

      62kg

    • Not without an engineered solution to hold it

  • Wow, the weight is like a feather!

    Please consider this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/820501

Its the higher model with better E nergy Efficiency (8 Star) and Power Consumption (130kWh). If you call their customer care & place an order on phone they will wave off $50 delivery fee and ask them to apply $10 price beat discount so your price will drop down to $789. Also, I bought their Gold Service Extra $165 which includes "30 Day Price Guarantee" i.e. get 120% of the difference back if your product price drops at The Good Guys or any approved competitor.

    Gerry? No deal.

  • Gas dryer or gtfo

    • Thats a rookie dryer. Brown coal dryer or gtfo

      • My nuclear dryer is much more efficient.

        • I dry my clothes by nuclear fission radiation. If I stare at my dryer for too long, I go blind. If I stand in front of it too long, I’ll get cancer.

  • I have the 9kg version of this dryer and the matching washing machine - couple years old now. If anyone has any questions, ask away. I paid $1100 for mine - this is a bargain.

It does tend to crumple some of our older or more delicate clothes, but other than that I can’t fault it

    • Cheers! Do they stack nicely on top of each other using the bracket?

      • Yes absolutely they do. And the stacking kit gives you a little slide out shelf in between which is pretty useful for the dryer imho

    • Did you notice any change to your power bill?

      • +1

1.5kwh per load vs 4.3 vented dryer

      • +1

Yeh, heaps. I haven’t looked recently (mine is 2+ yrs old), but yes, hugely lowered power usage on the dryer compared to vented dryers of old. I’d never go back from a heat pump. I recall commenting that the dryer now uses less that the washing machine

And as a side note if you leave the dryer shut in your laundry, it doesn’t cause condensation like a vented dryer does. It does make the room hot & a little humid, but no condensation.

        • How has the reliability been for both? Looking at the Ultimate 900 series washer and dryer and some people are saying the auto detergent filler breaks?

          • +1

@apptrack: I avoided the 900 series for this reason too. Not cos I read reviews, just cos auto things break and have only expensive workarounds… Plus it wasn’t on special at the time.

Reliability has been great. Only real issue is the seal in the dryer comes out at the bottom a little - but I’m pretty sure that’s mainly due to my kids dragging clothes out instead of lifting them….

Zero mechanical or usability issues - it does crush some older/delicate clothes sometimes. The wifi was a pain to setup for whatever reason and their mobile app sucks dryer balls.. But it integrates with Home Assistant well (3rd party integration), so I get notifications on my Google devices when the clothes are dry.

    Samsung 8kg Heat Pump Smart Dryer – DV80T5420AB $850.00 @Appliances Warehouse.
This dryer got the equal highest rating on CHOICE magazine review test October 2023 "87% Recommended", cost per load=37c.
The only issue, and it's a big one is that it's only available to customers in the Sydney and surrounding areas.
This does not include delivery, but they have a store front in Bankstown.
Price match if you live somewhere else? It's worth a try!
I'm surprised this deal doesn't have it's own OzB post.

  • Anyone know of a connector that will allow me to combine washer and drier outlet hoses into a single laundry drainage pipe? Currently they are too big to just insert in side by side.
