Sparkle Intel Arc A380 ELF, 6GB GDDR6, Single Fan, SA380E-6G
Update checked in to see if deal still active, it was linking to a $500 A750, I found same card for a dollar or so more but it's via the UK instead of the USA.

Never heard of this brand, but I understand they are excellent HW encoding cards, with AV1 support so good for Plex with tone mapping etc

6GB vRam is nice little plus imho, fairly certain the ASRock ones only had 4GB
All a380 cards have 6GB. Thanks, @IDD-MN

In terms of rasterization performance, seems fairly comparable to the GTX1060 (wins some, loses some; always better than the 1050TI).

This video doesn't do any direct comparisons but FPS in some of these games is much higher than I expected.

Cannot wait for my new A380 to be delivered.

Sparkle was a brand back in the day. I remember the Riva tnt they used to badge

    • They should
The ASRock A380 Challenger is also 6GB

  • Will it run starfield

    • There's lots of great stuff.

I ended up getting a ASRock a750 for$330, I'd have got a a380 if they had been available at the time.

      • Is it equivalent to a 3060 nonti?
        Which one did you get?
What is warranty like for these in Australia?

    • Such a price increase over the A750 for little gain doesn't make the A770 worth it.

      • … doesn't make the A770 worth it.

It does when working in compute/AI scenarios that require 16GB VRAM

In compute/AI, the Arc blows aways the $700 RX 6800 non-XT and trades blows with the $750+ 4060 Ti 16GB

If it's better, it's only for AI or video production with the better encoder.

Not sure what you're meaning about compute, but in games the Arc A770 is on par with the RX 6600 or the RTX 3060. Both of those cards can be found for cheaper. Their driver updates have been impressive, but nowhere enough of a boost to bring it to the performance of an RX 6800. The 4060 Ti 16GB is basically a slightly faster 3060 Ti with more VRAM and a big price bump. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

Here's Gamers Nexus's most recent video about Intel Arc, as of 8 months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-6sHUNBxVg

          • @ldd-mn: I reckon when ChatGPT says "compute" they mean GPGPU based workloads like machine learning, hash cracking, generating rainbow tables, physics simulations etc.

          • @ldd-mn: Maybe they were referring to this:

I know nothing about GPUs but found this when tying to get a realistic comparison for gaming. He just looks at design work etc.

  • Sparkle used to make NV cards back in the past. Brand should be decent enough to not cause any concerns.

    • Intel's endorsement of them is all I need to hear.

Their architectures not exactly fantastic to start with so I don't think Intel, with their massive war chest, would skimp on third party card quality.

It's not so much of an Intel's endorsement but rather who is willing to partner with Intel on such a potentially risky proposition and face having unsold inventory/potentially high RMA rate. You have to remember that even though Intel is a large well known company, their dedicated GPU arm is unproven and could still be a flop.

        • Oh, yeah, I don't think anyone expected their first few gens to be outstanding, but in terms of build quality, Intel won't want there first showings to catch fire or throttle or otherwise be stillborn; dead out of the gate.

Much like AMD Cards, I expect performance will increase year on year as they patch their drivers.

Good to see these finally start to become available. I’m hoping to see the Sparkle/Asrock low profile versions of the a310 & a380 hit stores at a reasonable price, might replace a Quadro P620 with one for transcode duties

Missed opportunity. It has DisplayPort 2.0, but not HDMI 2.1. This could have been a great HTPC card at that price.

  • Shame it's not low profile.

  • ahh sparkle, there is a brand I haven't heard from in a long time… a long long time
