  • Do they ever have great deals for existing customers?

Just use a new email when signing up again.

  • Is the P2P function faster and better for streaming? Ie Stremio and Torrentio?

    • You got a Real Debrid account linked to that? If so you probably won't need to use that P2P function

      • Nope I don't have RD, so it's probably best I connect to Nord P2P for Stremio hey?

        • Personally I would just get a RD sub. Only cost a couple $$ a month and don't have to worry about P2P or using a VPN

Been using RD for years. Mainly with Syncler but also abit of Stremio lately. Works well

  • I signed up for NordVPN about a week ago as my PIA subscription was about to expire. I primarily use a VPN for ad blocking and threat protection on my Android phone. However, unless I'm missing something, it seems that NordVPN isn't blocking anything for me. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm contemplating switching back to PIA.

Nord is pretty good for Meshnet, (adblocking feature is available on Nord too), But I absolutely hate the way how Nord app in windows logs into the account (each time we END task of their service, and then need to restart it, We need to re login again and again).

I primarily use a VPN for ad blocking and threat protection on my Android phone

You need BlockAda free instead of Nord VPN then I think- https://blokada.org/#download

Otherwise use NordVPN on your router/modem instead (so it blocks all ads in the network instead of just 1 device)

      • Thanks for the suggestion! Could you elaborate on why I would need to use NordVPN on my router/modem to enable adblocking, especially considering that the Android app alone doesn't seem to block ads on my mobile device?

        • Because Nord has a 10 device limit. meaning if you want any more than 10 devices you probably have to pay more to them.
Connect to router (and all traffic is routed through that, so you can use more than 10 devices like that.

Also it must be a pain in @$$ to like install and connect each every single device with VPN, so router better (just 1 single connection), Not to forget that some devices just cannot have NORD VPN installed (meaning if you want VPN on that, then you need to connect VPN via router).

Also Blockada 5 is free and works, especially with always with android.

  • I signed up for the basic plan, which was listed as:

    2-year plan ($3.19/mo) + 3 EXTRA months

    $86.13

then applied the SHOPBACK code. Now I see my card has been charged $129.20

    Any ideas?

    • +1

The original charge possibly wasnt in $AUD?

      • This seems to be the case. I just noticed the comments from the previous time this offer came up, which seemed to confirm that:

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/797454

Ultimately the cash back is still 98% so hopefully on a net basis I should only have to pay a few dollars.

  • Maybe nord changed the pricing?

I checked the basic plan just now and it's saying $3.79 a month

  • Does it track instantly? how long does it normally take to track

    • Seemed like it tracked within an hour or two.

  • How long does it typically take to be approved?
