Full disclosure. I know nothing about birds or birdseed. This came up on the camels and seems to be very cheap. Looks like they are price matching Pet Supplies Empire but if you subscribe and save you can get an even better price.

  • Thanks got some for the lorikeets

    • Can lorikeet feed on these? Thought they eat soft foods like fruit or nectar, pollen etc.

      • Not sure.. I noticed in Amazon reviews there is a photograph of lorikeets eating this. I usually feed them apple. I have magpie and cockatoo also like to visit, so will use it either way.

Seeds aren't good for lorikeets, though they will be eaten like a baby finding a button-cell battery.
The seeds destroy the bristles on the lorikeets brush tongue, making it ineffective for collecting their natural food of nectar and pollen from flowers.
Harmony Lorikeet and Honey Eater Mix is good, but you have to clean the feeding and drinking dishes between visits to stop the spread of disease.
Much better off planting grevilleas and bottlebrushes in the garden as a natural food source and maintain a clean bird bath.

Cockatoos will love this seed mix, but you run the risk of an ever-increasing flock turning up for a regular feed and becoming unruly and destructive if they don't get fed.

It is also now an offence in Western Australia to feed native fauna, including birds, without a licence

Just to keep in mind, probs the same in other state.

Also it's bad practise as it creates unsustainable feeding habits.

    • Thanks for the info. Wonder if it's OK in QLD. Our neighbour does it a lot.

It must be illegal to feed all native fauna in WA then. I've never seen any fauna or birds carrying a license….

  • Thanks OP. Bought for my chooks.
