      Tests are no longer required last time I checked. They removed that requirement a while ago.

      Entry restrictions

      Foreign passengers entering Taiwan must meet one of the following:

      • They are holding a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Employment Golden Card (including a Certificate of Issuance overseas) issued by Taiwan. Migrant workers travelling on a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) must also hold a re-entry permit issued by Taiwan;
      • They are holding a valid visa issued by Taiwan; or
      • They are nationals who are subject to Visa-Exempt Entry.

      Residents of Hong Kong or Macau must meet one of the following when entering Taiwan:

      • They are holding a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Employment Golden Card (including a Certificate of Issuance overseas) issued by Taiwan; or
      • They are holding an entry/exit permit or a temporary entry permit to Taiwan.

      Residents of China must meet one of the following when entering Taiwan:

      • They are holding a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Employment Golden Card (including a Certificate of Issuance overseas) issued by Taiwan; or
      • They are holding an entry permit to Taiwan, provided they are one of the following:

        • Entry as a spouse/underage child of Taiwan nationals, or a spouse/underage child of holders of ARC;
        • Entry for short-term visit to family or attending funeral (including to claim the remains/ ashes of the deceased);
        • Entry for humanitarian visit under judicial permission, or visiting a relative who experiences catastrophic illness or injury;
        • Entry for obtaining public law payment, or receive inheritance;
        • Entry for fulfilling contractual obligations or as part of internal transfers within multinational enterprises;
        • Entry as personnel of air carrier, shipping company, or a crew, seafarer, technician of aircraft/ship;
        • Entry as college or university students and short-term students; or
        • Entry as international medical personnel, or as the companion of the patient.
      Test requirements

      Passengers departing from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) or Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) must meet one of the following conditions:

      • They hold one negative PCR test result tested within 48 hours before departure and one negative PCR test result tested within 24 hours before departure; or
      • They hold 2 negative PCR test results tested within 48 hours prior to departure and a negative antigen test result tested within 24 hours before departure.

        Mask policy has been officially removed as of yesterday 17/4 so no longer required to wear a mask in public transport however you may still be asked to wear one by individual shop owners.

      That's Western Taiwan, this carrier "China Airlines" despite the name has no relation to Western Taiwan.
