Awaiting comments about pizzas getting smaller etc etc

    • +24

I have been buying Dominos pizzas every week since the pre-colonial era. The large pizzas used to be able to feed a small to mid-sized village with enough pepperoni pieces for everyone.

I bought one last week after taking a few months break and … by golly! The "large" was smaller than my outstretched palm and it wasn't even enough to feed my 3 year old son.

People always forget to use the hydrator with these deals.

    • And people are getting bigger. Wonder how long until the shrinkflation actually starts to be a good thing (due to people starving and losing weight).

It's all the estrogen and plastics in the water /s

  • Prefer the 50% off deal

    • Will do!

  • +6

I don't even consider Domino's when getting pizza anymore

    • Almost all deals are for value pizzas and you have to pay $3 extra per pizza for traditional

    • 7% delivery fee maxes out at $5

    • 15% surcharge on Sundays and Public Holidays

By the time you add the 3 above hidden fees, you are nearly paying double what the deal stated!

    • +2

So what do you consider instead? Waiting for some tasty, cheap, large wonder.

      • +2

I order from my local ma and pa store, yes you pay twice as much per pizza but 3 times the ingredients per pizza.

Buying 1 pizza of better quality instead of 3 cheap and nasty for 1/3 savings on price.

        • Lucky you to have that place then.

          • @pizzaguy: You don't? Surely you do! Surely you didn't pick that username because you like Domino's!!
Buy local where you can pizzaguy.

@Mr Frodo: A local $5.99 Domino's suits me just right. It's cheap and no bad surprises when I'm hungry, Mr Frodo.

  • The new standard price for the value range is $5.99 now?

This aint new, its been ongoing for a while for every tuesday. But thx anyway for the reminder.

Another option is buy 1 get 1 free on every Tuesday at Pizza Hut without the need of code

    • Valid until 26/03/2023

  • Pretty sure dominos has this on every week, every Tuesdays

Also if you dont need 2 (aka only need 1) then https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/759791 is better deal

I am pretty sure this same code is valid until 26 March 2023. Source from the same junk left on floor near mail box (see the photo on the deal linked in the comment- 2 for 1 Tuesdays)

    • Great. Then their own marketing disagrees with itself.

  • Value max is not good quality pizza. I noticed

    • Go godfathers, it’s a good pizza in that range

  • Can you order for pickup tomorrow?

    • Nope no go.

  • This is not a good deal.
The extra large pizza is supposedly equivalent to 2 large pizzas.

With this deal you get x1 large pizza for free. My large traditional pizza costs $15.
So you get 2x large for $15 which means 200% pizza for $15.

Whereas theres another coupon that offers traditional large pizzas for $9.99, then you can make that extra large for another $3. Meaning you get 200% pizza for $12.99.

The only way this buy one get free offer has better value is if you buy 2 extra large pizzas. Which means you end up paying $21 for 400% pizza compared to $24.98 using the $9.99 coupon

    • Nah they're 50% larger, not 100%.

      • Bruh,

i been scamming myself for long time buy choosing extra large over large thinking i getting better value

        • Do the maths again
If you are actually getting an extra 50% of pizza for just an extra $3, it’s still great value

Anyways, I wouldn’t buy those extra large pizzas myself coz those bases just aren’t as good as the normal classic sized ones.

    • lol what did I just read 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  • I prefer supermarket frozen pizza to my local dominoes these days…

    • Still more expensive, right?

      • +1

About the same, $6-$9 a pizza.

  • we thought it was our impression but we ordered dominos on sunday after probably 1.5 years without ordering it, and we were like “wtf did I order the wrong size?” now I understand what happened lol
