  • Pretty tempting with that lens. Pity about the poor video specs.

    • if we consider the cashrewards, $250 visa, body comes down to maybe around $200?

      • Yes, I'm very tempted. The lack of affordable lenses for this system is holding me back.

        • i thought the 24-200 will pretty much cover everything, except birds maybe.

also lens seems to be good:

          • @Farrba: Probably a pricing error on Amazon's part.

        • I have the 24-200, 85mm f1.8 and 40mm f2

The 85mm is my favourite of the three, but the 40mm is a great cheap prime. Picked it up because I didn't think the 35mm 1.8 would get much use, but surprisingly use the 40mm a lot now, especially as it's light and compact. Imagine the 28mm 2.8 is good bang for buck too going off the quality of the 40mm

Pretty happy with my current set up as a good travel kit.

  • Damn price went up missed it

    • back in stock now

      • price is back up though ?

  • i have nikon dslr ….with mirrorsless this is tempting but maybe sony is the way to go if i move back to full format ….but this does seem like a good deal and the range of the lens would meet most of my needs ….

  • this or a7 iii but i doubt we'll find a7 iiii body below $1k.

    • +1

      A7iii

      • +1

but cheapest a7 iii body is more than this price :(

        • if your budget doesnt extend that far, this will be fine too if you're happy going with this ecosystem of lenses or adapting lenses.

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: I have adapted a Nikon sigma lens with the a7iii and it's has a few issues when trying to focus on startup. Once it works, it's great but it's not the best experience. Sometimes frustrating when you you see the shot you want and you miss it cause your camera doesn't want to respond.

            • @ryf: micro AF adjustment in setting will help

            • @ryf: Yeah as the other guy said, mico af adjust , do you have the dock?

      • Sounds like see if A7iii body and lens deals appear on boxing day …..

        • yeah hopefully there will be a7 iii with kit lens for around $2k.

  • Bloody good deal. I have the Z50 with like 4 lenses and I reckon this one lens can do what 3 of them do (exception being the 35mm 1.8).
