My first deal so be gentle… :-)
Was in the market for my first electric shaver and went down to Shaver Shop to explore deals and was advised that the 9000 series was the one to get. A brief google showed Amazon had it at a lower price and then a cashback of $100 from Messieurs Philips itself https://www.philips.com.au/c-w/promotions/christmas-cashback… mAkes it very compelling at $319.

Pretty good reviews at Shaver Check - https://shavercheck.com/best-electric-razor/#1-Braun-Series-…

I have a similar Philips one and don't recommend it - the replacement heads are too expensive and the quality has become worse… Maybe Xiaomi one of similar action is worth a try or maybe Panasonic - have not decided yet.

I have the flagship model and cannot recommend it at all. This cannot clear my beard no matter how I tried. I ended buying the cheapest $59 model and left the flagship in dust. This is one of the rare example that the flagship is shitty as hell and lost to the most basic model.
Edit: I bought the flagship shaver in Japan so I cannot return it. Such a regret!

    More like your 3rd.

  • I have this and happy with it. Have also claimed and received the Philips Cashback

  • I still have my Philips Norelco 1290 from 2013, going strong, battery excellent, I use it every day. Replace blades with SH90 every year (bought a stack of them a while back).

Is this worth an upgrade from my 1290? Not sure if I need to buy a new one at this rate, I'll just keep replacing the heads.

  • Tried for about a month when they were running return money guarantee promotion. Couldn't find any improvement from my 4-5 old model.

  • Braun all the way ( old made in germany versions) not cheap plastic ones

  • Braun way better you dont even need to use lube the first time

  • Thanks
