[PC, Steam] RPG Legends: Baldur's Gate & Beyond (2 Items $1.46, 8 Items $14.63, 9 Items $29.26) @ Humble Bundle

320

Another good bundle from Humble. First tier is amazing value if you still have yet to play Planescape Torment, widely regarded as one of the best cRPGs of all time. Be warned though, there is a lot of reading to do, and it has aged a little. Not the prettiest game and sometimes the controls can be a little frustrating. I think most/all of the game breaking bugs have been fixed in the Enhanced Edition?

Value for the rest of the bundle is still good but most of the games have been bundled before so look out to see if you have any of these games before pulling the trigger.

Tier 1 $1.46

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition

Tier 2 $14.63 (Includes Tier 1)

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Baldur's Gate: Faces of Good and Evil
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Neverwinter Nights: Complete Adventures

Tier 3 $29.26 (All 9 Items)

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

    Looks like tier 2 only.

"I've personally reported 50 bugs since launch and not a single one has been fixed yet. Do not support this. Do not try to play it, because bugs will destroy your experience, if not your game. Collapse"

User reviews are scathing and consistent that it's full of game breaking bugs none of which have been fixed in a year

    • Hmm. I already went the full hog. Skim read some good things on Reddit so just went ahead and got it. Wonder if I made a mistake. Wonder if I'll actually get around to playing it. I have installed it at least…

Game breaking bugs were squashed long ago. Plenty of minor bugs but unless you know what you're looking for it's unlikely you'd notice. Console version a different story

      • The above was from Sept 2022

        • Been playing since launch and have 500+ hours (rookie numbers for this game though, to be fair). Not sure what he's on about.

  • Anyone have any experience with Pathfinder? I really enjoyed Divinity Original Sin 2, so I'm intrigued, and the price is dropping like a stone seemingly.

Only included in the $29 bundle

I know what the price is, I asked what the game is like

Probably the best CRPG since BG2.

Size and scope are unmatched. Some bugs still floating about and probably always will but unlikely you'd notice on a first playthrough.

Watch some beginner guides on YouTube if you're unfamiliar with the systems. Will save you the headaches later.

@Peaky: I appreciate the response, if I don't grab it in this bundle I will on the next Steam Sale. Cheers mate

            • @InsertCrow: I'd wait for a steam sale, decent game, much more fun if you play with a bunch of friends as the co-op experience is top tier

          It. costs. $29…

    Meh..

  • Tier 2 is fantastic value if you don't already own these titles.

Tier 3 is probably for the hardcore rpger with serious free time.

    Pro post, solid, 10/10 👍

I have pretty much the same 9 game bundle, but O.G., not Enhanced Edition.

Ever since buying it probably 10 years ago for about $10 as I recall, I've had grand plans of playing BG1 and BG2 seamlessly from start to finish using the BG2 engine with Widescreen mod and the various fix packs….and it never happens. I have played the first chapter about 28 times though, and have practically memorised the dialogue.

Money well spent, would play again.

Fond memories of BG2 when it came out, there was even a cloth map in the game box. I finished BG2 a few times with different characters and parties, it's an amazingly awesome title.

Never played IWD though. I'm tempted to buy this bundle to try the EE versions as well as supporting the charity….

IWD didn't do it for me. I did bg1 and2 via bgtutu but tbh only Planescape ever really hit the mark for me so you're likely going to enjoy iwd more than I did

  • Reminds me I already have IWD in my Steam library to play - never considered Planetscape but at that price I’ll get that tier 1 bundle.

Really enjoyed the BG1 and BG2 EEs - being an old D&D player from the 80s the rule set has stood the test of time. A shame there is no IWD 2 EE.

  • Icewind Dale is an absolute classic on PC!

  • I purchased this just to play Pathfinder and they say they have no more keys :(

ATTENTION: We have run out of Steam keys for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. We are getting more ASAP. We will have Steam keys for you as soon as they are available again!

    • I've never seen it before but supposedly it has been pretty bad in some regions. Lots of complaints on the subreddit. Hopefully not too bad in Australia.
