for you guys who have the Z Flip3 but never got the chance to purchase this case, its now on sale.

After using this case for 2 months few things i wanna say about it:
+ its extremely sleek compared to other cases.
+ its also lighter than most cases
+ adds a somewhat carbon fibre look to it (would look great on those phantom black variants)
+ somewhat makes the phone less slippery

-may not protect your phone against high impact drops (it just clips on along with some anti-slip pads on the inside of the case)
-does not protect the inside of the phone e.g. (the black plastic surrounding the screen)
-removing the back panel frequently increases wear on the anti-slip pads on the case.
-over time finger print smudges (but then would have to clean the screen every so often so might as well clean the case at the same time)

Other additional info: this happened in May but Samsung somewhat rebranding the Z flip3 to Flip3 in some of their materials (e.g. this ad and Trade-up store)

happy purchasing

Why would you spend $33 then when it can't even protect the phone from drops?

    Not flipping appealing.

      these aspects.

dependent on use, the case may not be suitable for everyone. To be fair the phone itself is not for everyone.

the Z flip3 cases are….. somewhat limited and designed differently.
The Spigen Tougharmor is the best for protection but its a chonky-boy & adds a real weight around the hardware.

      • dependent on use, the case may not be suitable for everyone.

I'm almost feeling brave enough to start using my Z Flip 3 without a case at all. A thin case, like the official aramid one, could be a good middle ground.

I'm currently using the official silicone case with the ring loop (which I use to clip onto my backpack chest strap while walking and cycling) has taken a THRASHING since day one. The silicone is now peeling from the plastic shell so I'm ready for a change-over. I also use a Cavor (brand) Litchi leather case for in the office.

        Thanks for the post.

        • Just be warned that any slight damage on your phone can cause a headache with warranty claims when something goes wrong, even when it seems unrelated. I'm one of the lucky ones, but see my experience here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/700407

          • @aaronaldo: I'm hearing you! Touch wood, I've never had to make a warranty claim on a phone since the keypad on my Phillips Fizz died back in 1996. I took it back to the place of purchase, Fantastic Furniture (!!!) and they just swapped it out for a new one.

I treat my phones with a degree of contempt and if/when they fail I presume it's down to my rough handling (or modding*) of them rather than a claimable fault. Hello e-waste!

*One of the most terrifying "mods" I've done on a phone was replacing the factory-fitted screen protector with an after-market one. Seriously nerve-wracking.

            • @[Deactivated]: Fantastic furniture, hahaha!

The thing is, the screen fault I experienced was something a few others online have also experienced that had no relationship to dropping of the phone. However, Samsung tried their best to blame it on my treatment of the phone.

@aaronaldo: Yeah mate. I totally understand and I'm sorry I came across as dismissive of your experience. That wasn't the intent.

Samsung support is really underwhelming and, as much as I enjoy the phone itself, "the package" (including after-sales support etc) gives me more than a little buyer's regret.

@[Deactivated]: No apology required at all! Just wanted to reiterate that from my experience, a slight ding has the chance of rendering the phone unusable and voids the warranty as well. It's no Nokia, that's for sure!

@aaronaldo: It was a sad day when I retired my Nokia 8850.

The only thing I that could have ever destroyed an 8850 was a 3310 dropped from 1m or higher.

    • I am using Flip3 Aramid Cover from last 6 months, it protected my phone 6 times when it fall on hard surface.

  • This Aramid cover does look sleeker but doesn't look like it has enough padding to protect the phone.

Been using the official silicone case since I got the phone and it has done a pretty job at protecting my phone on a few occasions. My only complaint is the ring at the back of the case… was thinking to cut it off but I think its there to hold the case in place.

  • I got the navy and orange color

  • For those of us with some class, the real leather one is down to $39 from $119 https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-EF-VF711LGEGWW-Galaxy-Flip…

    • …or if you want real leather and a kickstand - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09J2PVGBZ/ for $32.99 (note: stitched leather panels rather than wrap-around)

      • Interesting. But that leather grain looks real low-grade, the stitching isn't straight in the pics they want to use to sell it, and that kickstand looks cheap-as.

Might get one to try it out though.

        • I have one in front of me. Looks better IRL than the photos, IMHO.

The kickstand is cast aluminium with a stainless steel spring and recessed magnets. My only grumble with it is that it interrupts an otherwise completely flat rear surface when unfolded as it sits approx 0.5mm higher than the surface of the leather.

  • has been this price on amazon for a couple of weeks now - wait until they clear it out

    • Is that not the clear-out price? With the Z Flip4 coming soon I assumed they're clearing out Z Flip3 cases at this price?

      • With the Z Flip4 coming soon

[Insert wildly inaccurate speculation on pricing, features and performance from fanbois and clickbait merchants]

bought this when the zflip cases were 50% off at jb. Really good case if you want your phone to be slim.

  • I got Samsung Care+ just so I don't ever need a case. With Flip 3, it's so much better without a case. I wanted a small phone and that's no longer the case if I put a case on it. Very happy with it so far except the battery life. Have dropped a few times but because the screen is inside and it has metal frame, it has survived all drops on hard floors.

  • Can say the silicon ones are pretty good, I have been purchasing them on special and they never come off unless you purposely do so also the silicon one also protects the volume buttons

  • any aramid for the fold 3? nice deal op for flip users
