  • Holy moley! What a deal! Got mine for ~330 from Amazon Germany, brilliant piece of kit.

    • +1

some people get DC35 at local Harvey Norman for around $350 @ Aug/2011
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50941

I guess local warranty matter with $20 difference…

    • -1

with amazon germany, even translating the page doesnt help as some buttons arent translated. so how do you do the transaction without button mashing and adding your item to say a wishlist. id hate to do something silly with my CC payment.
anyway is there a price competitive european amazon that has 230-240v appliances with a fully english version? as the uk site in pounds is never competitive.
      TIA

      • +1

Just google translate the buttons manually. Its not had

          Spelling is.

    thanks ordered

  • Great price. I just paid 350 at GGuys. Bugger

    • I just paid 350 at GGuys. Bugger

Still not bad price at all considering your purchase comes with local warranty! :)

Dysons bought from Amazon DE/FR won't have Australian warranty, but you can still get them repaired and serviced here for a fee. (Personally, I'm happy to go without local warranty if it means saving 30%, but others may beg to differ.)

      • Yes when did you purchase it?

      • I'm willing to risk forgoing the local warranty as I'm guessing if a repair is needed, it shouldn't be expensive so you still come out saving money… actually has anyone had experience with repair costs for these units?

    • +1

Hi can you post a receipt? Or tell me how you got that price. Thanks.

      • +1

I walked into Good Guys (vic) haggled(395), a bit more (370), and a little bit more (350)!. I was buying for my sister who'd told me she'd been offered 350 elsewhere so I stuck to that price. turns out she'd actually been offered 395. honest mistake I swear.

don't have the receipt sorry. (purchased feb 29…but there were no discounts on dyson)

I'm really tempted to get one for myself at this price. I wonder if there's any way Dyson would know the difference between local and non local? ie. use sisters proof of purchase if my import unit packs up.

        • would think so.

        • +1

know the difference between local and non local

Yes there are country codes embedded in the serial numbers. e.g. my DC32 from Amazon Germany has "DE" in the serial number so the local Dyson refused to cover it.

  • Awesome price…just got the Animal for $383 from GG about a month ago.

One of the best purchases I've made in the last few years. Brilliant device.

  • +1

Same… aside from my fridge and washing machine, this is the one household item I use the most.

I have purchased 3x DC35 Animal this year(the animal is the one that comes with the extra powerhead for the car/carpets fur cleaner). one for my office, one for home, and couple weeks ago got one for a friend who just had a new baby. $385 from bing lee.

    • +3

      can you be my friend?

  • Temporarily out of stock!

  • looks kinda small does it hold much dust?

  • Thanks, ordered one, currently showing as temporary out of stock, but still can place the order

    • i've tried to order but says it does not ship to Australia.
      what's the trick?

  • -1

How would this compare to, say, the Roomba 530?

I'm considering getting the roomba for an uncle, as he can be a little bit 'indolent', and wondering if it still does a 'good job'.

    • It's a handheld vacuum cleaner, whereas Roomba is a autonomy bot that roams in your house while vacuuming at the same time. Two different types of products.

I found the handheld vacuums quite useful especially in household that needs to vacuum constantly (due to kids for example).

  • Wahh.. that is a great price man, bought mine from local HN with 4 years extra warranty for $380…but seems amazon only cover max $15 postage for faulty return now.

  • Wow awesome price! I just ordered one, thanks!

  • Looks like a wipper snipper.

  • +2

I've had the animal version for a while - a really useful product, but that is the problem: you use it a lot. I would say buying locally is a good idea as ours has needed a few repairs in the last six months.

    • What happened to it? Just curious.

      • Electrical issues. One was that the speed control (high/low) stopped working. Later was the vacuum simply turning itself off after a few seconds.
On a different topic, I recommend getting a spare battery, so you are only cycling your batteries after a full discharge (Think about it: if you use the vacuum for 2 minutes then put it back on charge, it recharges back to full without fully discharging. If you have a spare battery, you don't need to charge it until it is completely empty, when you switch it out for the spare charged one.)

        • Lithium batteries tend to not like being run down to empty as opposed to Ni-Cad/Ni-Mh batteries which like being cycled.

  • Temporairement en rupture de stock ie. NONE LEFT FOLKS!

How does this charge, I assume it has a euro power plug.

  • Awesome deal. Not sure whether it is a pricing error Does it come with a different plug compared to the Australian one? I have a big Dyson and I think the small one can be used to clean my car and other hidden conners?

  • Good Deal
BUT DC 35 can only used 8-15 mins!!!!!
Anyone knows any better deal for a normal Dyson?

    • 8 mins is on max power. 15 minutes is more than enough. You wouldn't be using it to do your whole house.
Also it's 15 mins of continuous use - you depress a trigger to use, so it actually lasts a lot longer that way.

    • i checked other model because of this deal, DC29 also available to ship to Australia, work out to be around euro 291 including shipping.
very tempting, but concern about the voltage, is it ok to use in Australia? 220V 50Hz in Fr, and 240V 60Hz in australia.

      • just having a look, DC 35 is also 220V 50Hz …
Can we use it in Australia ?!

        • Yeh, Australian power outlets are 220v, not the 240v as advertised.

        • 50Hz in Australia and Eurpoe, 60Hz is the US. I think Australia's voltage was 240V +/- 10% 50Hz however I think it has been changed to 230V +/- 10% 50Hz. I just measured mine and it is 248V at the moment.

      • how did you get it to ship to Australia.. for me , the amazon fr page says that it wont ship to oz

      • Don't worry there is always a tolerance 220-250V in most appliances. With motors it's the Hz figure that can sometimes be an issue however we in Australia use 50Hz.

  • My girlfriend bought one of these for ~$350 at HN recently - she's happy with it, but increasing her vacuuming frequency to daily is driving me a bit insane.

Runtime isn't an issue - but may become one as the batteries pack it in!

Still, great price - well spotted.

    • lol @ translation of its review
"but I was sucked until the day before. Visually, I found him in the pictures is not as nice, but in kind, he sees better."

    • thanks bought one.. thish should have been post as a separate deal..

      • Hi, did you receive your Dyson DC29?
        THanks

        • yes 2 days back

  • how long does the shipping take?
Some of my friends said it takes 3 weeks..

    • +1

They're probably thinking of books or movies they ordered from Amazon. Bulkier items like this Dyson are shipped out of Amazon's German warehouse using DHL Express and should take 2-5 business days, depending on where you are in Australia. I've ordered about a dozen bulky items from Amazon Europe (UK/DE/FR/IT/ES) and delivery has always been 3 days to Sydney.

      • Just to add to my earlier comment; bulky items from Amazon Europe are usually delivered to Australia in 2-5 days, but only if they are in stock at the time of purchasing. I forgot this particular item wasn't in stock, so it'll likely take longer.

Right now the item page on the Amazon.fr page says: "Usually ships in 1 to 2 months" ("Habituellement expédié sous 1 à 2 mois").

        • Yes,,, Did they change the delivery day from 2-5 days to 1-2 months?
          That's huge different!!!
          Anyone got their DC35 shipped?
Already been 3 days since I made the purchase…
          Should I cancel my order……

  • it is now back in stock, but at 155 Euros, wondering when my order can be shipped.

    • um what is?

  • Did they change the delivery day from 2-5 days to 1-2 months?
    That's huge different!!!

    Should I cancel my order……

    • I've been checking my account regularly since making the purchase, but it still hasn't shipped yet either… I'm wondering the same thing as you.

      • We should make the order together since we are both from Adelaide!!
We can share the shipping instead ^^

        • +1

Hey now there's an idea, but if we cancel and re-order the wait time is huge :P

      • I am thinking should I cancel order and re-order DC29 (in stock) instead…
        Just only $30 more…

Do you know how to contact the seller (Dyson) and ask for the stock of DC35…
THinking Should I write in English,,,
        I dont want to wait forever…. ><

        • I'm going to wait until the end of the week I think, if its not shipped by then I'll cancel the order.

Just bought DC 37 Animal (equivalent to DC39 here I believe) from amazon.de. Ordered last Thursday, arrived this morning!

The price on the website is EUR 443.00 but at checkout it's only EUR 372.27, probably exempt from VAT, plus shipping for EUR 40.00 so totally end up to EUR 412.27 = AUD 514.68 I paid.

Don't know if this is a good price at all, but probably worth mentioning in this thread :)

    http://www.amazon.de/Dyson-DC37-Animal-Turbine-Turbinend%C3%…

    • That's quick delivery!
Ordered the same date with you and haven't ship yet!
I am now thinking cancel the order and order yours instead…..

      Thanks for sharing sheepy!!!
How did you feel with the new Dyson DC 37?
Try out your Dyson and come back for us!

    • Nice price!
The DC39 is sold by Dyson for $949, no mention of the DC37 on their site.
Ebay has one DC37 Animal for $688.00
Couldn't find out what the differences are

      • I think DC37 is the same as DC39 as it's the only barrel model with Ball technology.
Previously I was looking for DC39 Allergy and the price I got quoted from the local shops is about $690 so I think this price for DC37 Animal shouldn't be too bad, plus I don't have to look around or haggle for any discount.

Only used the vacuum once so far so can't comment on the performance but I found the cable gets a bit warm after usage, shouldn't be a big deal I guess.

Here is a review of the vacuum and the guy points out some of the design flaws so have a look before you buy.

  • Has anyone received any word from Amazon France about their order?

  • +1

Got an e-mail earlier. I think it translates to say that I should get my DC35 next week around 29th.

    • Thanks for that, here's hoping I get something similar, I was going to cancel my order today :P

    • Wish they send me the DC-35 soon…..
      Thanks for update rockpeblar!!

  • It's on its way. Got an e-mail earlier today with a UPS tracking number!! Due to arrive by Wednesday.

    • When did you order the DC-35?
I ordered it on 15/03/2012 … I guess I am just few hours later than you?? /__\
Anyone receive their DC-35 or email yet ?

    • BTW, looking forward to hear your feedback on the DC35.
Maybe I still have time to cancel the order if it is bad LOL
      Thanks for update again Rockpeblar!

    • Cheers mate, I'm still looking at a "Not Shipped Yet" screen :P

      • same here

  • I folded and just purchased one, I really don't need it, I already have a dyson barrel and a roomba, not to mention I don't vacuum very often. Anyhow it is 216 Euros posted now, put on 28 degrees, i think this works out to $274 AUD using XE currency converter.

  • Ordered mine on 14th Mar. Just checked UPS and it left Singapore last night. Hope the rest are shipped soon.

    • Nice! Good to see they're shipping the orders out. I ordered mine on the 15th, so I guess I just need to wait a little longer.

      • same here, still waiting, and I notice the price changes regularly, just always in stock when price high and out of stock when price low

  • Arrived today - first impressions - great. Was some charge remaining for a quick trial. Now on charge

    • +1

Grats! I'm curious to see how often you'd need to charge it when you use it for quick 1 or 2 minute jobs here and there.

    • They are fast - thought yours arrive on Wed !
Takes only 3 days for delivery!
Do you think they can replace normal vacuum cleaner (full size one)?
      Thanks again for the update!!!!!

  • "Do you think they can replace normal vacuum cleaner (full size one)?
" Not sure, we have an upright Dyson already but this DC35 is much easier if you want to just hoover one room. The suction seems to be nearly as good as the fullsize one. We purchased it mainly for the car and picking up any crumbs the kids leave behind.

  • +1

Has anyone else had their vacuum shipped yet? I'm itching to try it out…

  • Ordered a DC35 on March 16 - just checked and still showing estimated shipping date of April 10 - April 30.
Also ordered the car cleaning kit at the same time - it arrived March 20! Once in stock expect a quick delivery.

    • Where did you find the estimated shipping date?
I tried to click view my order status, it still shows
"We will notify you by email once we have an estimated time of delivery for this article."

      • I found it by logging in to amazon.fr -> "Your account" -> "Your current orders" = Date d'envoi estimée 10 avril 2012 - 30 avril 2012

      • mine also shows "We will notify you by email once we have an estimated time of delivery for this article.", I placed the order on March 15.

      • "Sweet! What does mine say?!"

We will notify you by email once we have an estimated time of delivery for this article. It will be sent separately. You may at any time cancel your order for this item.

        Not yet shipped

        Ordered on the 15th March.

Did you guy receive it ?

  • /_\ mine still shows "We will notify you by email….."
    Ordered on 15, March 2012..,,,,
What time did you guy order?
    I order around 20:00 after dinner……

    • Can't remember what time I ordered sorry.

    • yes & I'm still waiting on my email from amazon.fr and I must admit finding my way around their website is painful for a non french speaker. Like you I ordered on 15th March I think it was late at night. Have you been charged for yours yet? I don't think I have been charged.

      • +1

If you use Google Chrome it'll translate everything into English.

  • I received mine. But mine is missing the battery. I thought it hidden in packaging , so ripped it apart…. no sign of the battery. I check some unboxing videos on youtube to find where the batter will be in the packaging. It is attached to vaccum cleaner in the video. Mine didn't have the battery attached. Did anyone else have similar experience.

    • Oh my god…… Maybe you have to contact Dyson to due with it…
But it is hard to find the way to contact them even the site been translated to eng…
I think a brand new one costs around $70 …

    • i think Amazon should re-send you a battery in this case, just email them, my experience with Amazon US was pretty good, hope the fr branch will be good too, good luck

    • I thought Dyson had good quality control…

Definitely contact Amazon France, like "excite" I know Amazon's customer service is pretty good so I think it quite likely they'll help you out with the missing battery.

    • Sent an email to Amazon france. Keeping fingers crossed.
