Cheap Auspost Stamps for Christmas

Hey,

I was looking at posting some letters with AusPost and the regular cost of stamps is $1.10, but i saw they have Christmas stamps for $0.65, but they're supposed to only be for Christmas greeting cards and similar festive things.

If I am posting it with something that isn't festive/isn't a greeting card, how are they going to know the difference as they won't be opening the letter.

Do you think this is a viable way of getting cheaper stamps on regular letters? Or do you think they will figure it out?

Thanks

It needs to be a card

    • How will they know if it's a card or not though, if they can't open the letters.
Like i guess they can feel if it feels like a card

        Sigh.

They can open the letters to check.

Also, you are Supposed to Write "Card Only" on the Face of the Envelope.

For use November and December only. Must be endorsed 'Card only'.
(and the Return Address on the back) so they know where you live. lol

I thought that you had to leave the envelope unsealed to be eligible to use the cheap stamps. I think I'll go look it up!

    Nope, all they say is:

Seasonal domestic greeting card rate applies to greeting cards enclosed in a sealed envelope and endorsed card only.

How many letters do you have to send?
I didn't think many people posted letters these days.
