With Kickstarter, you weren't charged until the project hit its budgeted fund raising, by the set date. If a project failed after that, your funds were gone.
Depends on the creator; I had a Kickstarter project that partially failed and got a refund for the partially failed part.
Good to hear. I eventually closed my Kickstarter account after complaining about several campaigns and only ever receiving cookie cutter/ bot like responses. One campaign took $US3,000,000+ and delivered about 10% of the rewards, to US backers only, to avoid their local legal system, with no refunds to anyone.
Some backers have tried charge back on CC, but you usually get banned from backing/account closed for doing so.
I thought with Indiegogo that there were no refunds. I stand to be corrected.
