      Wuhan Topmed Trading Co
1904-1905 Block D Future City NO 147 South
      of Luoshi Road Hongshan District
      Wuhan, Hubei, 430070
      China

From the image. It says made in Brazil.

Ahh Nice, wonder if the president touched them or not.

      • Very strange to have 'made in Brazil' AND Wuhan Topmed Trading Co Hongshan District
        Wuhan, Hubei, 430070, China

        • rofl

          Not strange at all

I can confirm that the Softmed 10 pack of masks from CW say Made In Brazil on the packaging. There is no mention of anything associated with China.

          Thx to Google Lens:

          MADE IN BRAZIL

Manufactured by "JSM INDUSTRIA E COMERCIO DE PRODUTOS MANUFATURADOS LTDA"

          • @nismo: What's to say that they arent repacked in Brazil but the masks itself are Made in China?

Look at this one - "Made in Australia" - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/102313/softmed-surgi…

            • @Turd: I don't disagree with you.

Re: the Aus Made ones, those do seem suspicious. I don't know how they could set up manufacture of a mask so quickly, especially based on your info below.

              (leased space in July 2020)

              • @nismo: There is only one logical conclusion. :)

Based on the TGA ARTG number and the description of the product as well as the image, it appears to be made by SoftMed. These masks have been on these previous deals before:

    • The Chemist Warehouse one is still available for $39.99 Delivered or 2 for $70.

      • The ones at Chemist Warehouse that are 2 for $70 aren't surgical ones like the ones above.

Surgical ones are $39.99 (no combo discount).

        • Yep, I linked those below.

    • -4

Thanks! I'm associated, but I didnt saw these previous deals. Looks like it's not the cheapest ever, but still quite a good price if you only buy 1 box

  • -3

    been cheaper at
    coles
    chemist warehouse

    • -3

Yes, for $1-2. You get these delivered to your door. I think this is a better, or at least comparable deal. Certainly not worthy of a neg.

      • Got a box of 50 from Amazon for $28 with other things in the order it bumps it up over the mythical $39 free shipping fee.

      • -1

        its not oz4thbestprice.com.au
        3 cheaper places listed above

        • -1

And shipping is offered by Coles? For those who don’t have the capacity or don’t want to go out, this is the best option for an additional $1-2. I believe Coles and CW are now more expensive than this deal

  • Do you have dentist gargle and some plastic gloves I can stick in my mouth to replicate the fun of a dentist but at home?

    • +3

We have different hobby 😐 but sure, we have blue, pink, or if you prefer
      XL in black

      • -1

Not sure which size to get. Once I go for the black XL one, can I go back?

  • Chemist warehouse review is not very good. has anyone used it?

    • +1

Can confirm it's not the greatest quality. Mine saw one of the rubber band snapped mid-shopping. I had to hold the mask up with one of my hands for the rest of the shopping trip, left feeling like I'd peed my pants.

i think i saw on TV there is a face mask factory in Australia, the first one built and running already with like thousands thousands output per day.
why still expensive? before covid normal price is like $18-20 a box of 50 pcs, yeah?

  • link goes to masks that are level 2 not 3 so inferior and more expensive to coles chemist warehouse and others

    • Hey, I'm curious about the differences. I'll check my local CW to see which one they actually stock

Somewhat related, ADA has provided a guide for dental professionals exposed to fluid contamination on a daily basis. Level 2 is acceptable.

  • So I have spoken with a person involved in sourcing this. Apparently Softmed has at least 2 sources of manufacturer, China and Brazil. The one made in China is inferior, and although it says level 3 protection, the "level 3" is not the same as Australian standard. Inspect closely the inner packaging if you buy elsewhere, not just the box.

We initially received both products in our warehouse and has returned all the made in China ones. If you buy from us, they are all made in Brazil.

    • Do the ones made in Brazil are actually made in Brazil? And not just repackaged in Brazil?

For example this softmed one says made in Australia. But clearly arent. - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/102313/softmed-surgi…

FYI Brazil is number 2 in the world for corona virus infections - https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

      • No idea unfortunately. Just to be clear, I'm not taking issue of where these are made as long as the quality is up to standard. Just a fact that we received several complaints for the Made in China ones, and none so far for the Made in Brazil

        • Would be good if someone did a clinical tests and to comparing the two.

If softmed can say they have "Made in Australia" masks - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/102313/softmed-surgi… But infact are just repacked Made in China masks…

And at the same time say they have Made in Brazil masks, what's to say the company in Brazil hasnt done the same thing, and just repacked Made in China masks.

You cant trust this. Especially when it's profits over medicine/human life.

          • @Turd: We did compared the 2 and they are different physically. At the time of comparison the chinese mask is blue and the brazil mask is white.

            • @djprima: Cool still I personally wouldnt trust this brand.
Regardless of where it is "made" from.

Someone needs to do scientific tests and regulation into masks.

            • @djprima: china ones can be white as well Coles has pallets of these

              • @aussman: Then there's no easy way to tell now. I guess generally look at the build quality, Softmed could likely switch manufacturer. If it's good, why not

        • ust a fact that we received several complaints for the Made in China ones, and none so far for the Made in Brazil

          What were the complaints about?

          • @eug: Quality issue with the earloops, and general build quality

  • Some audits have begun. Hope this will limit circulation of fake masks out there.
