I'd jump on it if it was G-sync, but thats unrealistic for that price :/

    Good deal tho

    • yeh mate, been looking for a while and this is the best value at the moment sub $350

    • +14

Can use FreeSync with an NVIDIA card now :)

    • +7

It's G-Sync compatible, or if not you can still force it. As long as you have a GTX 1000 series card or newer it will work.

    • -5

      It's certified as G-sync compatible.

      • Yes, yes it is. I like typing with lots of bold words.

        • I like typing with lots of bold words.

Does it make you feel empowered?

          • @jv: not as much as you..

            • @petry:

              not as much as you..

              what makes you say that?

    • +2

i bought this monitor last week, can confirm have adaptive sync working with my gtx 970 working flawlessly at a buttery smooth 144 fps

  • +4

    27" FHD? at the price?

  • +18

    1080p.

  • +3

Would have pulled the trigger if it were QHD :(

    • +3

      if it were QHD :(

      Not at that price.

      • +2

        I can dream :'(

        • +14

          I can dream :'(

          Go back to sleep :)

  • +3

Great price considering some stores are selling the 24" version for $330. But this will appear slightly less sharp due to lower ppi but that may or may not bother you

    • +1

In games it doesn't matter - just on the Windows UI and productivity work it'll be noticeable.

      • This is the problem I have, if I buy this I'll be using it 60/40 split between work and gaming. My work is usually Excel based and I'm not sure how much the lower ppi will bother me. Shops usually display higher end monitors that are more than 1080p on 27 inchers so I can't even go and demo one

        • +2

Wouldn't bother with FHD for Excel.

1440p sounds about right for you.

          • @giventofly: Cool thanks, I'll keep that in mind in my searches

          • @giventofly: I agree. The extra screen real estate with 1440p is highly noticeable. I went with the Viewsonic at $489 for this reason.

    • +1

a 24" version of FHD is better because the size of a pixel is not that huge comparing to 27"

      • -3

The pixels on this are definitely not huge.

        • +5

          Hashtag lameo

        • It is just my opinion, I have been using a pair of 27" 4k displays for a few years already and 4k/27" is a great size of the pixel (0.16mm). So I guess 27"/1440p should be still good (0.23 mm), but definitely not for 27"/1080p (0.311m).

I still have older Dell IPS 24"/1080p and pixels are already noticeably big (0.276mm).

          • +1

@alenpln: if you're playing at 144fps on fast-paced FPS game…. you won't see the pixels

            • @dcep: True, but you are not playing FPS games all the time - and even in FPS games there are slower parts where you can see them all :)

    • for work you'd probably want to sit back an extra foot.

    • if you're playing 144fps fast-paced FPS game…. you won't see the pixels

Includes $40 steam voucher on redemption

From the AOC Promotion Page, I don't think it valid anymore.

Customers who purchase Valid Models during 23/05/2020 and 15/07/2020 and complete their Claim by 31/07/2020 are eligible.

  • I was so excited till I realized it was just FHD

  • +2

This was really well reviewed by Hardware Unboxed.

Like everyone else I'd love it if AOC made an equivalent monitor in a 1440p resolution.

  • Includes $40 steam voucher on redemption

    Where does it say that???

The offer finished 2 weeks ago…

  • I am looking for 1440p anything out there value for money apart from viewsonic free sync one for $469?

  • why would you want FHD in 2020

    • +4

Because it's inexpensive in every aspect?

      • honestly go for a cheaper build and better screen. way better.

1440p monitors aren't that much more expensive

        • What if the cheaper build has a GTX 1650 Super?

          • @Void: I just built a 1650 Super gaming rig with 24G2 monitor for my son. Works pretty well together. But we only play Fortnite.

            • @Nitrous: masster is saying that for 1440p though, pairing a 1650S with 1440p144 is a terrible idea as it's only a 1080p card.

              • @Void: Yeah, we only planned for 1080p gaming. Figure he can save up his money if he wants to upgrade the GPU later.

        • +2

          cheaper build … running 30fps on 144hz 1440p monitor ?

    • +1

      its cheap???

    • +1

Don't need a $1000 video card to run the latest games at 144fps 1080p.

      • i'd rather 100fps at 1440p than 144 at 1080p.

        • +1

Yes, because someone buying a 2070 Super is also going to be buying a $300 1080p monitor?

When you compare 1080p vs 1440p for gaming, you compare the total cost not just the monitor.

      • Exactly. You need $1400 cards. $1000 are the new mid range.

    • to use as a secondary monitor, I have the 24" version of this monitor as my secondary, 1440p 144hz 27" as main

    • FPS and refresh rate > resolution

  • +1

    HDR

    pull the other one

  • +2

    1080p not 1440p..
If you don't need 144hz consider this model

    https://cplonline.com.au/monitors/aoc-monitor/aoc-27g2e5-27i…

  • i literally just got the 24" one a minute ago, jumped on ozbargain and thought it had a deal lmao my heart dropped.

    • the 24" is $301.67 with voucher, how much did u get it for?

    • +1

You will enjoy it. I've had it for a few weeks, great monitor.

  • +5

    1080p 24" > 1080p 27"

Good price, but honestly, buying the 24" for around 300 bucks is a better deal imo.

    • Honestly thinking of changing from a dual older dell 27" setup to a 24" setup.
Fine for gaming as im focusing on one screen, but for work i find the screen size tedious…

    • Have you got the link? Cheers

  • Got this for $300 pre-covid, good monitor.

  • +3

1080p on 27" is deal breaker for me.

  • Got mine back in March ($300, grabbed 2) for WFH and Xbox/PlayStation.
Was after something that does Tate/portrait mode. These are a pretty good price if you're going to use that feature. Have been great for me

  • I got the curved version for $49 more last week from Austin Computers

  • Expired? getting "This code can't be applied to your order." :(

    • Did you click to pay with Aftertpay before you added the code?

  • I paid 299 a six weeks ago. Nice screen. 144hz via display port on Mac works fine by the way.

Edit, misread. Mine is the 24".

  • +2

1080p at 27inch should be illegal.

  • 1080p monitor, would have bought it if it was 1440p. :/

  • can anyone tell me, i have a 2014 alienware 17, 4th gen i7 Processor, can it run 1080p 144hz display smoothly? I dont play game..

  • What's the best valued 1440p 144hz 27" monitor? I really need to get a new monitor to play some sick games on

    • +3

      ViewSonic VX2758 or Gigabyte G27QC

    • Just get a GL850.

  • +1

PS: Cheaper at Shopping Express eBay if you have eBay Plus. (No Afterpay Required)

  • -8

Paid $479 + delivery for the QHD (1440p) version of this a few months ago. Overall very happy. Just doesn't work in well lit rooms, because the brightness is effectively around 230cd.

Downvote because at this size FHD is a no-no.

    • Doesn't seem like a valid reason to neg, not everyone can afford the extra cash / cares about the res / can drive the extra res.

    • +2

Terrible neg - that's a 28% more expensive screen and nobody is under the illusion this is anything but FHD.

  • I get that 1440 (QHD) would be a lot better on a screen this size but I cant justify the extra $120+ (minimum). Might just grab 2 of these for now and then upgrade when the prices come back down to normal in 6-12months.

  • I think it's lame that I have to pay with Afterpay in order to get the discount.

It's like I'm being penalised for being able to afford it outright…

      • +2

LMAO I love it… but no, not trying to s..t on those who can't buy outright.

        • +2

Nah all good bud. I see your point. Cheers for sharing the laugh

          • +1

@4agte: Always my dude!! :) … I was waiting for a plethora of negs to come in! Guess I was lucky?
