Please note that you have to purchase Smite for free separately from this starter pack

    to start you off

… on the road to becoming a whale?

These games exist to drain money out of the player.

Boycott Epic Games. Don't support Tencent and their bullying tactics.

    • +3

Are you going to support all gaming companies Tencent owns a stake in?
      Maybe check that on Wikipedia.

      • I have been largely downvoted, so clearly I'm wrong somewhere - Is Tencent now the good guy?
I genuinely would like to know. I've been on the "Hate Tencent" band wagon since they strong-armed Blizzard in the Hearthstone debacle.

        • I think the answer lies in your comment. Don't jump on bandwagons. Do your own research and form your own opinion.
Plus be fair - consider things other companies do or have done, see if hating a company and avoiding it is feasible if they have a stake in many gaming companies you might love.
Tencent is no worse than Google or Apple or Facebook. They are all bad and want to press money out of us. No reason to single out Tencent just because of some people who hate them because of Epic and because they are Steam adherents.

  • Do I need to install the game to gain the starter bundle? Or just own the game on Epic?

    • Not sure but in past you could just add DLC.

    • me too i am confused. is this a DLC only, or the game with DLC, do we need to get the game first, where is the game link?

      • +1

You can claim the bundle just fine. It is also clear from title what the deal is for and what it contains.
Obviously for it to be useful you need the game.
The game can easily be found on their store if you want to install it.

  • heard Two-factor authentication now required to claim free games off the Epic Games Store.
but i just claim this fine, i don't have two factor yet. more confused…

    • It's required to claim the free giveaway games, Smite is a free-to-play game so it's not part of that.

  • this game looks so bad. i'd rather stick to dota
