…and uninstalled. I think it's only for the US. All the numbers in my log get the zero dropped and it recognises it as texas. Thanks OP, but no thanks.

    • thanks for the warning

    • Works for AU too. You can choose the country in the settings. I just trying it.

Are they harvesting my call log?

No, on iOS they can't as Call Blocking/Identification apps work as an extension.

Simple example of how this works:
When a call comes in, iOS will ask the database provided by the Tellows app for the caller's number to see if it's in their spam list. If it is, then iOS will tell the phone app to display something like "suspected spam". The Tellows app will never get the number that was queried as it is in some sort of read-only mode.

However, I see that if you launch the app and enter a number to check if it's a known spam caller, then they might be able to call-home with the info you provided.

  • Just in case this helps you decide.

I actually uninstalled it after persisting for about a month. It looks terrible and could not identify a lot of incoming numbers, and it seems I was doing more work to classify calls than the program was.

In the end fact is, I have a Pixel 4 XL and the built in call ID monitor was actually far more accurate, less intrusive and easier to use.

I think it's pretty unnecessary software these days if you have a modern Android device…..
