LMFAO. most toll roads will be purchased by the tax payer within a year or two anyway

I am not so sure, toll roads have some of the better financials.

      • 'better' financials purely a product of government support (or investor perceptions of such support). Just nationalise these corrupt, joke entities now.

        • Completely agree.

    • +1

Source? You understand most of them are under concession for the coming decades?

  • Doesn't this apply to QLD as well?

    • +1

Apologies, I wasnt aware of any trans urban run tolls in QLD. I'll update the title if so

      • yes there are, Legacy Way for instance

        • Airport link, gateway motorway, logan motorway, clem7 etc…. Monopoly

Given how empty the roads are you wouldn't bother taking half the toll roads in Melbourne. They're always closed down to 2 lanes with 40km/h signs

some people are always complaining rather than being thankful or appreciative

      • Just stating facts

Toll roads had better never come to WA. What a blight.

  • Thanks for posting this — I had not seen their support, and I have a fine and some charges due to my tag not reading and not having added a new rego to my account.

If you were in financial hardship, you wouldn’t be traveling on toll roads…. ?

    • Agree…

  • Interested to know the criteria/verification process for deeming an applicant under financial hardship

    • +1

Obviously they're referring to whether you're receiving JobSeeker or similar. You would provide your CRN, just like other places ask for.

    Pass.

Traffic volume down everywhere, so toll roads along with airports are about to re-enter public ownership. So long parasites.

    • Renationalise them all. Transurban shouldn't exist in its current form - a completely corrupt chain of events that led to it ever being created.

I think I'm with e-toll.. Anyone seen anything with them at all? I can't seem to find anything. Kind of wish I was with linkt

  • Am I correct in that I need to have already been a regular customer in the past, not just an occasional user who uses passes?

  • Me: Wow, 3 months account credit in Vic.

Scrolls down: Not valid for Eastlink in Vic.

    Bah! 😒

  • Called up.
Only for previous account holders and not valid for new accounts.
    DARN

    • :-( I was about to call them. I'm currently on hold to rms to see if etoll are doing the same thing. This could save me $17/day and up to 45minutes of time in traffic travelling from one side of Sydney to the other!

      • Received the opposite answer in a call just now - "open new account, fill in the health worker form and once approved, future trips will be covered" (the health worker concerned has for a long time travelled daily on the Linkt roads to their hospital but currently uses a different tolling company so would not be eligible if they were to stick with that billing arrangement)… Given contradictory answers, maybe a Linkt rep can clarify or others can try ringing up.

        • OK, so that means my travel from south west Sydney to North West Sydney on the M7 and m2 should be covered if I cancel my etoll account and open a linkt account. This would also probably get me a nice sleek looking tag for my car instead of the old one I have from the rms for etoll. I tried calling linkt before and was on hold for a while.. Spoke to someone who said I then needed to call linkt assist as she could not help. I've been on hold too many times today.. I'll call a bit later to confirm I think

        • I called up today.. They said existing customers can apply for the healthcare worker credits..

However, if I signed up, then applied for the healthcare worker credit, then I would be an existing customer.. Because I already signed up. They told me to put in the application with my workplace id card and they would assess all cases.

Once I have confirmation, I will close my etoll account. Fingers crossed this works. It could save me up to $850 in tolls!

          • @kimba88: Wow! Thanks for the updating wtith he conflicting info.
I've signed up as well and put in an application after for the healthcare worker credit.

If this works then I will update the thread as well.

@Jimmy6: I just got confirmation that I'm now approved for the healthcare worker rebate :-)

              • @kimba88: Wow! That was quick! Did you receive a phone call or email notifying you?

                Congrats!

              • @kimba88: Yeah got confirmation that I also qualify. They asked me to choose which of my 2 cars I would like it for though. Wouldn't allow both.

                • @Livert: Which day did you guys complete the form? I completed mine yesterday so maybe I'm still in the queue..

                  • +1

@Jimmy6: I got an email. I completed the form on Friday afternoon.. 20minutes after I signed up for a linkt account. Haha. It's actually taking longer to close my etoll account because I can't get to a nsw service centre because of their reduced hours they are open and my work hours. So I called them up and they delinked my number plate my my etoll tag.. And I've wrapped my etoll tag in aluminium foil and left it in my glovebox. Now I'm just waiting for the delivery of my linkt tag.

                    • @kimba88: Good stuff! Glad to be able to shave off travel time and money :)
Hoping I get the email tomorrow!

                  • @Jimmy6: Did it the day this deal was posted. Got the reply Saturday. They confirmed this afternoon that all tolls will now be covered.

  • Anyone knows if they credit u back the toll charged within the eligible period or only from the date of approval?

    • From 1st April. Will be credited each business day after trips are processed.

  • Got the approval!!
Just wondering if by credits being credited back to your account means rather than refund you back the amount, the amount will be credited back to your toll account to be used at a later date?

    • It's credited to your toll account to be used at a later date. I think you can refund toll credit to your bank account though.

      • Great stuff!
Would probably go for the refund in this case then :)

  • Does anyone know if I have to delink my eway tag to not get charged twice? I thought you just have to take the tag out of the vehicle and have the linkt tag on instead but reading above comment makes me wonder if that’s not advisable.

    • Not sure about delink but there is an option to remove the number plate associated with your account on the etoll website.

Otherwise I'm guessing it might try to link your number plate and charge you?

      • thanks, much easier!

      • Be careful with this. I've just been due to renew my rego and it came up that I had to pay.. Even though I spent >$1300 last financial year to be elegible for the toll relief program. I've spent hours on hold and multiple emails to service nsw to finally get 'special consideration for reimbursement'. It's been a big hassle.

  • Can a moderator add that this EXCLUDES:

Trips on the M5 South-West Motorway (New South Wales)

Very important exclusion. Made the mistake last night.

  • also note you have to have an account with Linkt

  • excludes travel on EastLink [VIC]
