  • used for years until the blade broke, the replacement blade price makes it worthless now.
    good for cutting small branches.

    • AT least you have used for years
my saw bought from ebay was $80 and used for 2 months only
Now oil leaks and it cannot even cut a tiny branch :(

      • good for cutting small branches, the battery is small, ok if you don't do a lot.
Got a similar one in my $150 Ozito X 4in1 pack, the battery isn't a problem anymore.

        • Thanks for your info
will see how it goes when my item arrive
I might also use this to cut wooden boards occasionally

      • maybe you can have my saw with a spare battery if you have the same model. postage is a problem though

You can get packs of blades from bunnings for about $10. Doesn't have to be black and decker brand.

I've had one of these for about 4 years. Still going strong

      • any specs to buy the blades in bunnings?
a bunnings product link would be great :)

Sorry dont have it on me but its somwthing like a t-blade or something. Take the blade out when you get it and take it to Bunnings. The replacements are real cheap.

      • that'll be great!

  • the replacement I can find on eBay

      Look for that instead.

Given how small this unit is, wouldn't you be better off with manual pruning shears? Those ones with telescopic handles make light work of cutting small branches

    • +2

These have their place. I use both to prune my citrus, sometimes there are other branches in the way that make it hard to open or close the handles on the shears. With a little saw like this you just reach in and cut the branch. It's also good because you can use your free hand to take the weight of the cut branch so it doesn't split or tear the bark.

I received one bundled with the alligator saw years ago. Had the first alligator saw replaced when the jaw became all warped. Used once more and sold on. Kept this unit. I do also have telescopic pruning shears. Not sure the manual pruning shears would cut through what these do.

Buy a recip saw which gives you access to more blade choices.

  • How can you get that price? Mine come up as $50.62? Sorry if its so obvious

    • Oh price went up:(

      • Still going up. Shows as $62.06 for me.

If anyone wants add more blades to this saw, there's a pack of Bosch JSB Jigsaw Blade Set T Shank (8 Piece Set) to go with for $7.40 on Amazon
ebay has the same for $17, bought a pack for mine, fun time…

    • bought one as well, Thanks mate!

  • Now $79.21 (and cheaper on eBay). Odd.
