    Normally $300 per family.

We always watch fireworks for free.

How do they manage to stop people from looking that haven't paid ???

    • +3

Certain areas are ticket admission only or entry controlled by Police. Best to have tickets if you want a good view or go super early to reserve your spot.

      • +5

or just look up into the sky.

        • +2

Is Campbell Cove near Cobbett Cove?

you might want to put down the town/city/where ever it is. I've never heard of the place

    • -1

      oh it's in Sydney!

Never heard of Campbells Cove & I lived in Sydney for 10yrs.

Still not sure how this was ever $300? There's so many places to watch the fireworks in Sydney.

    • The Rocks - North of Overseas Passenger Terminal almost under Bridge. So won't be much good for view of Bridge🌉

  • -1

I fail to see how you get $300 a family from. It clearly states tickets are free limited to 7000 people inside.

  • +11

With rent prices so high in Sydney then $300 for 4 people with water views for 1 night is pretty cheap

  • Nice find thank you sir/madam/other

  • Really can't stay there for so many hours and so late anymore will skip.

    • +1

I am just try to say it is a good deal but I am too old for that anymore :-)

      Leave it for somebody else.

  • Thanks! Thinking of taking my parents this year, hopefully the tickets will be put to good use.

    • +2

See my post above - event is being run by Channel 9

  • +3

It's legit. You can also click through directly to the NYE offer via the official 'The Rocks' site here: https://www.therocks.com/whats-on/new-years-eve-at-the-rocks…

  • -3

    is it dodgy website?

  • well,, what can you lose here??its not asking for a cc details,,,its free!!! so worth taking the risk.

  • +1

Site is slow as.. they can have my junk mail email along with my new number of the month.

  • why ticket on East Circular Quay shows 10:00:00 AM but CAMPBELLS COVE shows 12:00PM ?

    • Because they are different areas that are opening at different times..?

  • Great deal, thanks for sharing!

Anyone not planning to attend would appreciate a few tickets to campbells cove location

    • I have the east circular quay tickets if you are interested. I booked 5 people, 3 adults & 2 kids, but the ticket doesn't specify the adult & kid, so i assume it can be used for anyone?

  • which one of you ozbargainers are selling these free tickets on gumtree?
    Shame on you!

  • +1

It is illegal to resell these tickets and NSW laws are quite strict, but surprise surprise there are people doing so on eBay asking $50+ per ticket. Just give them away or trade them for a six pack/pizza or something, seriously how greedy can you be.

  • +1

Does anyone know if one can enter the location late in the evening with the tickets. For east circular quey ticket, it says entry 10am. But I was hoping to find if I can enter say around 6pm.

    • +1

I had a similar plan, I read somewhere you may not be able to enter between 8pm and 9pm while they setup the area for the 9pm fireworks but you can walk in after this. I plan to get in after the 9pm fireworks as I have a restaurant reservation before this.

      https://wl.eventopia.co/event/East-Circular-Quay-FREE-NYE-20…

    • Hoping to find the same answers too, showing up later to see the fireworks and leave afterwards. But I’m afraid they will turn us away if it’s full capacity?

    • 10am is when you can start entering. It's up to you when to enter but you won't get good space if you come in late. Technically the entrance is not open until 12pm:
      https://www.sydneynewyearseve.com/vantage-points/east-circul…

      • I emailed them asking this and they said for 9PM fireworks you should get there before 8PM and should be OK. After the 9PM display some people will leave and otherss with a ticket can also enter.

  • I don't understand how places reach capacity when it's ticketed? Do they issue more tickets than the capacity??

    • I suspect probably some arbitrary safety nonsense or the like. Gotta justify waste of our tax money in some manner thats really for our own good… cough.

  • +1

i want to know if the east circular quay will be closed or not during the event.
I want to arrive after the 9pm fireworks when the parents and kids go home, in time for the 12 am fireworks, i got a ticket.
    Does anyone know? Many thanks.

    • Yes you can arrive after the 9PM with a ticket. Suspect quite a few ppl will be.

  • Very keen to go also if anyone has tickets spare or can’t go to either of the OzB meet ups.
Thanks to anyone who can kindly donate…

    • Are you still looking for tickets?

      • Yes, definitely!

  • -1

I am really disgusted at the people trying to profiteer off these tickets on eBay/Gumtree. I suggest people go ahead and report the listings. I'd love to see them hit with a fine for this. Fair enough there is some opportunity cost as you had to be quick to get the tickets back in November, and it's nice to help someone out and receive something in exchange, but expecting $50+ cash per ticket is disgusting and I don't know how anyone can do that in good conscience??

  • +1

Message me if you want some campbells cove tickets.

    • All gone

  • +1

Message me for 4 free East Circular Quay tickets

    • Thanks so much. :)

  • Anyone have tickets for NYE? I am looking for 3 tickets. It would be my first fireworks in Sydney.
    Happy New Year

    • PM your email. Got spare 3 left.

      • I got it already. thanks

  • I am stuck on stupid north shore line train. Crazy delays on T1. I will make a scene if they don’t let me in upon arrival

  • Came after the 9pm fireworks. God that was a mistake. They didn't let anyone in and there was a huge crowd waiting to get in. I guess that's what you get for free tickets. I feel sorry for the guys that bought tickets afterwards and were turned away. That 7000 limit is all BS.

    • They opened the outer gates around 9:45pm. but didn't get into the viewing area until 10:30pm or so. It was a disaster. my train trip took 2 hours instead of the usual 40min to Wynyard. very badly organised this year.

      • Curious when you say open the outer gates.. do you mean they let people in who didn't have tickets?
