Is this jeans good or bad for men's reproductive system?

    • +7

Good if you get kicked in the nuts a lot

      • +2

Would be good if people are trying to glass your nuts, dunno how much protection from blunt force trauma.

        These are cool though.

Only if the person shooting you is shooting blanks

      • Is it at supersonic speeds tho?

Kevlar jeans are for Motorcyclists, regular jeans get shredded in seconds if you are sliding on the road, apparently Kevlar afford a few seconds more of protection.
Pay up front and save money on skin grafts.

I have a pair, it's a bit warm on the nuts area but riding a bike adds aircon ;)

You rest your nuts on the petrol tank while riding?

      • +4

more or less, depends on the size of the nuts and the tank….

I like to use mine as panniers.

Even had several people ask me if they're genuine leather.

I'm having a look at these. I've previously bought a couple of pairs of Draggins and had one crash wearing one. Also have bought a few different Aldi jeans which are 'ok' but not as comfortable as the Draggins.

      I'd note the following:

      • regular jeans don't get shredded in seconds - it's more like 1.3s or under a second in some instances
      • the kevlar patches last quite a bit longer but they will also get shredded

I wore a hole through the knee area on the jeans I had (through the kevlar) but the rest of it saved me from a lot of road abrasion that normal jeans would have done very little to survive.

Most of these kinds of jeans are warmer due to the slightly thicker denim combined with the kevlar stiched into a lot of areas - but they aren't that warm - you can't ride in < 5C just in these jeans without freezing..

I've used them in Qld temperatures of 30+C and they were OK.

          G'day TW,

I was coming to a T-intersection and the Toyota Prado turning across traffic decided to turn in front of me.

I did think about stopping but I really do enjoy riding - so I bought a replacement bike the following week and was riding the next week.

I still limp (came down on the right knee area) - but the point was that I had a lot of safety gear which made all the difference. The ambos when they came to check me out thought they were dealing with a deceased individual when they saw the bike (wasn't much of it left) and were pretty surprised I only had minor injuries.

Helmet (full face) - was scraped all the way where my jaw would have been.
Gloves - had holes through the palm leather but hands were OK
Kevlar jeans (draggins) - hole through the knee area I came down on - rest saved me from road rash
Boots - a few scrapes on the boots but no damage

If i had been wearing riding pants (with knee protection) I'd have no external injuries at all and just be a bit sore (what happens when 100kg of rider is ejected off a bike at 50+ km/h.. fascinating but not very complicated physics problem to work out the energy/mass involved..)

That's why I +1 deals like this and also point people towards the Aldi gear - any gear at all is better than none.

          cheers,

          -j

  • VPL goin on there too!

  • When i last left the jungle and rode a motorbike like an ordinary man, this is where i ended up.

    Haven't felt the same since.

I for one can recommend Kevlar Jeans.

    The Phantom

  • I had a couple of cheap pairs like this and the problem with these is that they have Kevlar sewn in like patchwork quilts instead of large panels of Kevlar. So depending how you slide, the thread holding the Kevlar in place may get destroyed making the Kevlar worthless.

You will also need CE rated armour to go in the hips and knees too which is around $30-40.

Anyway I got rid of my cheaper pairs and got a pair of Rhok Gen 3 jeans as they offered better protection, and also have leathers for colder weather riding.

Skin grafts cost and inconvenience would make it worthwhile spending more than $50 on pants.

What these are actually good for is for DIY jobs and tradies. Kevlar is tough and knee pads can be handy if you are crawling around under the house or in the roof, etc.

    • Mine came in the other day, and overall I'm unimpressed.
The belt sizing is a little tight, the crotch area is extremely tight, the shins are very loose, and the feet area are too long.
It's like they designed this jeans for The Rock for the bottom-part, and the top-part was designed for Seth Green.
Maybe that's why they made it cheap?

Besides that its extremely heavy, which I don't mind much.
The fit and finish is a dealbreaker though.

      • They are supposed to be long (when you're on your bike you have bent knees so you need longer pants legs) and heavy is good for durability.

Shame about the rest of the fitting though.
Guess it's hit and miss with cheap brands which is why I don't cheap out on my gear anymore

        • I get that, but the Ad has been removed.
And the way it was written was that it was a regular jeans, but used with Kevlar instead of Standard Denim. There was no mention of motorcycles or intended use. So you can't even use these as regular slacks.

Long a go I promised myself to never buy clothes online. I broke that promise, and now I have…

  • Hmmmmm…… the site uses funny maths:

    Subtotal $49.49
Shipping & Handling (Flat Rate - Standard:) $10.00
    Grand Total $118.98

    • +1

It happened to my order as well. The problem was only to the Grand Total screen, the actual payment amount (in my case was using Paypal) charged was correct.

      • Good to know.

I eventually ended up going back to the shopping cart and deleting my order. Also left a message on their zendesk popup but never received a reply.
