Telstra 10GB / Unlimited Calls Mobile Plan - $42.50 Per Month (24-Month Contract) with $60 Welcome Credit (Offer Ends 9 July)

1140

There's an amazing SIM-only plan available from Telstra at the moment through their partnership with Amway…

Amway Go BYO Mobile $42.50

Included calls (to Australian numbers) - Unlimited
SMS/MMS to Australian numbers - Unlimited
Included data - 7GB
Bonus data included - 3GB
Sign up credit - $60
Contract - 24 months

Important note…

You will see some conflicting info online about this offer… for example the Telstra Amway website says it is a $52.50 plan with a $10 monthly credit for the first 12 months, offer expiring 30 June. HOWEVER… the website is out of date. I have confirmed with Telstra Amway over the phone that this offer is available until 5pm July 9th, the $10 per month credit will be applied for the life of the plan until the user changes to another plan, and the $60 welcome credit is still available too.

How to sign up…

To access the plan you first have to sign up as a VIP Customer with Amway. You will need to know the name and ID number of an existing Amway business. You can find this out by calling Amway on 1800 45 46 47 who can introduce you to a nearby Amway business owner or search online forums like Whirlpool for "Amway IBO" and you'll quickly turn up plenty.

Once you have signed up for Amway they will start spamming you by email about vitamins and cleaning products but you can immediately unsubscribe and you'll never hear from them again.

If you want to take up this plan make sure you sign up with Amway as soon as possible because if they have to put you in touch with an Amyway business owner then it could take 24 hours to sign up.

Once you have your Amway VIP number, you can sign in to the Telstra Amway online ordering portal but honestly it may be easier just to call their dedicated 10 person team at Telstra who are intimately familiar with the deals, on 1800 426 699.

I just typed random Amway VIP number of 378213721 and it let me into the portal…

    • +2

I don't think it will work because after you order online they ring you up and confirm the order for you. However if anyone wants to PM me I can tell you the name and number of the Telstra Amway IBO I used… I just wasn't sure if it was allowed to put it in the posting because I didn't want to look like an Amway spammer (and I am not in anyway involved with Amway. I just got in touch with the Amway IBO through Whirlpool in order to get my own plan…!)

  • +4

I'm not eating live chickens just to get a mobile plan. Not in the first month anyway.

  • Are you sure it comes to $42.50?

Looking at the page Amway customers get 10% off so as it is a $70 plan it would be $70 - 10% - $10 = ~52.50.

Go Mobile Plans Usual price/month Exclusive discount to Amway Anyway IBO/VIP price/month
    Go Mobile $70 $70 10% $63.00

So you the promo is $52.50 per month and 1 month free.

    BYO plan update
If you connect a $52.50 BYO service before 30 June 2016 you will receive a $10 credit per month for 12 months – plus 1 month free. The standard Amway rate of $52.50/month applies for the rest of your 24 month contract term. Plan credit and 1 month free may not be applied until your second bill. Please select the $52.50 plan option on the online order form, using the ‘Buy Now’ link.

    • Yes… the 10% off thing is outdated. It's now 25% off the $70 price plus $10 a month off for as long as you stay on the plan. Give the Telstra Amway team a call to validate it.

      • Give the Telstra Amway team a call to validate it.

Wouldn't be worth the paper its written on. When it comes to phone contracts access to the published CIS would be needed or at an absolute minimum an updated published product page on the providers site. Is the product page updated in the Amway portal?

What does it say on your contract is the minimum total spend over 24 months?

    How to sign up…
To access the plan you first have to sign up as a VIP Customer with Amway…

    Nice try Amway… Pyramid Scheme in 3, 2, 1…

    • Yes. Like I said. They will spam you to try to get you to buy vitamins and cleaning products. But then you click unsubscribe and never hear from them again.

  • +3

I'm still on the $40/mo $1000cr + 7GB BYO deal. An extra 3GB of data for $2.50 sounds nice, but that 24mth contract hurts a bit.

  • +1

Excitement Excitement! Hey this looks -AMWAY- BZZT! Buzzkill, let down, not interested.

  • +3

Do we get Google play credit with this one ?

    • +9

Since this is a post paid contract… any purchases on google play will be ADDED onto your monthly bill. That is one of the reasons I will not go into a contract and stick to pre-paid

      • +1

I get my Google Play credits from Google Survey. 😃

        • +2

Not at the same rate as telstra prepaid gets it:
$30 recharge gets you any of the $30 plan offerings (e.g. freedom plus) and you have a random $30 "recharge credit" that can be used towards buying data at exorbitant rates, or paying for your app/in-app purchases.
And that's just per month too

      • Good point indeed! I always thought you can use your post paid plan credit to buy from Google Play.

  • +9

24 month contract for $60 credit? No deal!

    • Yup. This is the dealbreaker - 12 months I would strongly consider but not 24…

  • So works out to be $40/month over the 2 years, which is on-par with the Optus $40/10GB deal except for the contract duration (24 months vs 12 months)

    • +1

It would be better to go with Boost as they give a total of 11Gb of data and all you can eat calls and text. No contract and they use the Telstra 4G network.

  • +1

Aww man 24 months - i'll stick to my Virgin $40/m plan for the same specs

    • +1

I'm on the virgin $40/m plan too! but I'm tempted as ppl always say Telstra is the best in terms of reception, compare with Optus and others

      • +3

I switched to Telstra from Optus and am finding the reception much better in Sydney, especially in shopping centres.

        • Yeh I have a dark zone on the train to work everyday where my netflix is interrupted for 5 mins. This is the only reason for me to go to Telstra but still nothings guaranteed

  • do you get data rollover with this?

    • +13

No but seeing that it's Telstra, you'll definitely be getting free data days =p

      • what's that? is that like the old yes-time but for data? But surely that's not a regular thing right?!

        • +1

Its when telstra publicly apologizes for service outage and announces "as compensation please enjoy unmetered data for one day on blah blah date"

        • @cwongtech: oh hahahaha

  • What's this:

    Telstra New Phone Feeling
After paying $149, you can get your hands on a brand new smartphone after just 12 months, Telstra New Phone Feeling is available to all new and re-contracting 24-month plans – terms and conditions apply.

    • Doesnt apply to byo plans.

  • +3

Bugger about the 24 months, that's way too long on a BYO plan.
I wish they would bring back this deal 7gig,$5O/m 12 months and a $200 welcome credit which come to $34 per month

    • +1

You are with the best provider in Australia, on 4G network, unlimited and with 10gb.
Where could we possibly regret signing up in the next 2 years?

I don't see other providers outdoing this plan in that time.

      • Because both Optus and Telstra occasionally have deals like the one I linked above for new customers only. If people have acceptable service with Optus it is quite feasible to switch provider every 12-15 months to maximise the benefits from the plans. Each to there own how they value data but anything over 4-5 gig does the job for me and price becomes the priority over data.

      • Optus already has a better plan available. If you think plans won't get better within 24 months you're crazy

        • Which plan is it? Link please.

Optus is crap compared to Telstra. Compare apples with lemons

  • +6

    Lol Amway
    i hate them

    • +6

      lol Amway
      I hate them x 2

      • lol Amway
        I ate them

  • Optus has $40 10gb unlimited calls sms n 300min call overseas if u ask the on livechat.. Most of the time it works.. If not try again

    • +3

Yeah but who really wants to go on the Optus network when you can have Telstra and full coverage.

      • +1

People who want the EPL for one. Free 1st season access. Besides Telstra has only been a bonus when heading bush (I just buy a pre-paid sim and stick it in the second sim slot when needed) for me and that is pretty infrequent, other than that, Optus has been pretty good in metro Melbourne for me.

        • There is no point to avoid joining Optus if you are soccer fans. Enough has been said about their strategy, etc. At the end of the day, you will still want to watch EPL live anyway. A $30/$40 4G prepaid with EPL is reasonable, as least for the 1st year. I am sure they will give similar discount in the 2nd and 3rd year to retain customers.

  • +1

what's happened to the existing telstra customer?

    • Screwed

    • You still get the $60 credit I think. If you're on an existing BYO plan contract you could ask the Telstra Amway team if they will recontract you onto this. My guess is they would because there's no handset subsidy they need to pay off. If you're on a handset plan you'd have to pay out the handset subsidy I think.

      • Nope, they confirmed no welcome credit over the phone. I'm on an existing BYO contract, the cancellation fee for that would be waived.

    • You can get 10-15% off your monthly Telstra bill, depending on your plan, by simply being an Amway VIP

  • This is a very good deal….as long as there will be no outage.

  • +1

If I have a lesser Telstra plan on contract, can I change it to this because I am going up?

EDIT: Just can't do Amway. Maybe next year.

  • Can you add a Handset with MRO?

  • +1

Save us all for a minute, just what exactly is Amway ?

    • +8

PM me your address and I will come over and tell you all about it. Please have credit card handy on my arrival.

This was posted ages ago and deleted.
The Amway deal is for the Amway seller and people are selling sub accounts which are not meant to be allowed.

  • And the pyramid scheme continues…

  • Called and asked if I could upgrade from my casual $45 plan I jumped on last August and they said yes!
    Mobile repayments carry over

    • I'm on the same plan, just wonder after upgrading into Amway plan, how much do you pay every month? $52.5 or $42.5 ?

      • she said $42.50 after the 25% discount and $10 off

So yes all you pay is $42.50

        • Thank you. So that's mean recontract another 24 month, also carry over mobile repayment, which is $0 from last deal? I gonna call them tmr. Cheers

        • +1

@jasonchen59: I called them about this, and they said it cant be done, you would need to payout the remaining amount owed on the mobile. They cant carry over mobile repayments as its a BYO plan. sirs2k do you remember the name of the consultant you were speaking to? Thanks

        • @danb: I've already PMed Sirs2k, I thought you just called earlier with "Jackie", I had same answer obviously.

        • @jasonchen59: Yep, flat out refused haha I tried my luck but got no where. Hopefully it's just a bad worker and just need to get onto the right one. If sirs2k signed up successfully, and has a new contract with those details on it, we might be able to get it done too

        • @danb: i have never had any trouble with the workers there, to me it just sounds like your trying to be dodgey and they've been a wake up to it.. its people that try to dodge the system that will eventually ruin it for all of us genuine amway clients..

        • @cooper00:trying to be dodgy by doing the same thing as everyone else and sign up to that plan? Good one

  • I sure hope that when you unsubscribe from Amway, they delete your details.

But having lost my last relationship due to my ex being involved in detestable MLM practices (well, MLM in general really), they will keep your contact details and then contact you "out of concern" and "long time no hear" just to squeeze a sale or two out of you or your friends.

    Caveat emptor

  • Was wondering what I would do with my AMWAY VIP status - thanks OP…will be looking into this.

    • You can buy Amway's product and sign up their affiliate store partners such as Telstra

  • +1

I'm using this offer and just signed up before June 30 two weeks ago. The only disadvantage is 24 months contract. But normally after a year you may change the plan with small amount of fee to get out of contract. For those who need Amway business owners affiliate and lazy to contact them directly you can buzz men on private massage, I solely do this to help you guys getting a decent offer from Telstra. I personally use their product for health purpose.

    • Can I please grab the Amway business owners affiliate.

      • try contacting SavageCarrot who is an Amway IBO :)

        • Thanks will do.

  • I don't like being locked in to anything

  • It's very tempting. Its just the 24 month contract that's stopping me from signing up. If I'm realistic why would i require more then 10gb a month, saying that you just never know what 24 months will bring in the tech world. Decisions decisions

    • Same 24mth kills it for me

  • Looks like SavageCarrot is in the Penalty box, so I can msg him to get a Amway IBO….

    • no he isn't :)

      • I clicked on Start a new Convo to PM him. At the top is states "Users in the penalty box, overseas users and new users with accounts less than a day old cannot initiate new conversations." and the send button is greyed out

        • +2

so you can't initiate new conversations - are you overseas or using an overseas vpn?

        • @tonester:
          bingo. thanks

    • Just ring amway and they will give you the last name and ibo number, just done it myself after gioving them a postcode :)

      • did you port a number over? I'm with boost mobile currently so wonder if its easy to port and how long it will take

        • +1

Already with Telstra, saved myself $20/month for exactly the same product

  • does anyone know if you use the IBO and surname of someone do they get contacted from AmWay?
i got details for someone local but dont want them contacting me asking to buy stuff??

  • If anyone got a IBO and Surname from someone that is happy for them to sign up just for this deal can they please PM me with it? I have tried SavageCarrot also.

  • Can anyone please message me an IBO/Name to register with. I can't message people as a new user?

    Thank you

  • Can someone please pm me a Amway IBO. I haven't heard back from savagecarrot

  • -2

    sounds good……for legitimate amway customers…
i think some people forget how hard alot of amway business owners work to deserve these discounts

  • Can someone please pm me a Amway IBO?

Have tried contacting their number (but its out of business hours)
    Thanks.

  • Hi guys, can someone please pm me a Amway IBO and a name? Thanks

  • Also would appreciate if someone can PM me an Amway IBO name/number. I've tried to contact Amway this morning but get a msg saying their operating hours are Mon to Fri :(

  • Could someone please PM me with the ID and Surname of an Amway IBO?

    • Actually never mind. I get the feeling Amway will hold onto my details and harass me for the rest of my life.
