Can't Click Yes or Type Password at The User Control Account Thing

I currently have a Windows 10 laptop, where for some reason everytime I need to change administrative rights or install an application, there will be an user account control notification tab that says to type password and click yes in order to do so, but won't let me (the yes option fades out and no option to type in password).

I've searched on the internet and it appears I am not logged on my administrator account. I have both accounts and tried both accounts and both times it doesn't work.

Anyone can help a brother out?

  • Right click on the program and install as administrator. I've never really used accounts so I can't really help with the accounts bit.

  • log into the administrator account, and set both accounts to be administrator (google is your friend).

    Also, disable smart screen.

If this is a work laptop, they've probably got control of it, meaning this all might be useless.

  • You need admin privileges to say yes to UAC
