  • All listings are online. You just need to know which site is popular in the city/town you're looking in.

pretty much 99.9% are on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au

    • I think LJ Hooker stand alone as far a websites are concerned.

  • They're not all for sale, as the websites also have listings for tenancy.

There are sales that are not listed. Normally for premium properties, and when the vendor wants to keep a low profile on the sale.

my interpretation of the question OP is asking is; are there other places to look i.e. does realestate.com.au have ALL the sales, or say 80% of listings?

  • Predominantly, you have to be a tight arse seller not to pay to have your property on real estate.com.au or domain.com.au
It's the way of the world sadly, we didn't advertise in the papers the last time we sold, which for a long while was the norm.

  • One word —realestate.com.au

  • We have a local agent that doesn't list on domain. While we were searching it meant checking their website regularly too. Fortunately they were quite prompt on letting us know if they found anything that might suit us, but… We had to contact them first by attending an open house they put on for a house we had discovered by driving past.

I think the majority of agents will list on both r-e and domain if they want maximum exposure, but some don't and will be hard to find out what they are selling, unless you live in or visit the area often.
