Telstra Google Play Credit not working

Hi all, I am on the $30 telstra freedom plus plan. I tried to buy the new Justin bieber album off Google Play using the credit but it won't work, even after pressing "enable telstra billing".

Error message:Your account isn't eligible for mobile payment service. Call your mobile operator

Before i waste 50 mins of my life calling rhem, has anyone had this problem? I am I'm using the cheapie ozbargain huawei y550 phone if that helps. Thanks.

    Yes had this exact problem.

    (not buying Justin Bieber tho ;) )

    If you have had the account at least a few days( there seems to be an issue under a few days for some reason)
    you will need to call.

    They had to try a few things before it worked, whilst i was on the mobile to them.

    (i wonder if it was related to me asking them prior to block premium sms services ?)

    Also log into google wallet and check there https://wallet.google.com

    you may need to delete any old Telstra numbers there.

    EDIT: Telstra is working on the "account section" today so that could be another issue…who knows ?

        • That's good. Did u activate before the new freedom plus plan took place? That was around 9th Nov.

  • Instead of calling you could try live chat…. then you can multitask doing stuff on your PC while you resolve the problem.

    • I always found calling to be easier. Live chat is crazy, 20 people in the queue. But thanks for the suggestion mate.

  • Just do a live chat with them or call them. THis happened to me and they fixed it very quickly.

    Also can't accede the Telstra billing for apps. Did you get it sorted?

    • Spoke to them on the phone, they said it was something wrong with my Huawei Y550. Took 30 mins all up. I'm just giving up, don't have time to deal with this.

      • I have LG G4. Apparently that's at fault too.

      • Got it working.

        Finally got someone on online chat from prepay services….4 minutes later, up and running.
        Just bought my first app.
        $4.99 fantastic pro app and charged to Telstra from the $30 starter kit I paid $8 for.

        Persistent finally got there.

        Maybe ask to be connected to prepay services when on the online chat.

        • Knowing this is an aged thread, had the same problem with my LG G4.

          Telstra Prepaid Call Centre also fixed it quickly by changing the Bigpond Content Limit on the phone number.

          Didn't Telstra stop the Google play credit on their freedom plus pre pay plans.?

        • Google Play credit will still work for those on the old plan, which has been granfathered by the new Prepaid Plus plan.
