And don't forget your Woolworths gift cards for another 5% (that said its a trade off if your credit card offers an extra years warranty)

Woolworths hasn't owned Dick Smith for years…
Wish gift cards (Woolworths) are not valid at Dick Smith.

  • Where does it say 3 months netflix? With samsung pp

  • Hmmm…looks like the Optus phone might be delivery only, and it's $8, making it $23.

Better off going with the $19 Coles deal:

Just get it in store :)

    • Question for you guys, we have a trip to Singapore coming up and I'm keen on the idea of free netflix - should I grab a couple of these phones, activate the optus sim (for netflix purposes only) and then buy a couple of sim cards in Singapore for the 10 days we are there?

It's mainly so the missus and I can contact each other if we get separated from each other, or to share txt's with family back here in Oz?

      Would this work?

      • +2

No, this would not work. An $80 per phone unlock fee applies to use a Singapore SIM.

To roam with these phones you would need to buy "Travel Credit" for the phone. A minimum $20 charge per phone applies.
See Optus.com.au/roaming site for more details.

        • Ok, cool. Thanks heaps for the reply!

  • Will prob buy my wife the iPad after my son dropped her iPad3 on tiles and smashed the screen…

Make sure you check Officeworks price Asap Tue Morning to see if they have dropped their price to match, if not you get an extra 5% off :)

      • Checked OW near me already and none have stock :( online only.. Do they price match online? Didn't think so.

        • Yes, they do if you call their 1300 number.

        • @jdf:

          Yep gotta call them.

    • JB Hifi trades in damaged iPads. Probably won't get a lot of money, but I'm sure it will help (and they will price match DSE).

  • Anyone know how you get the 3 months Netflix? Do you get a code or do you have to sign up to a prepaid or plan?

  • Just register the included sim and you will get a sms with the code.

    • For the prepaid sims do I activate it and put it in the new phone? Can't I just put it in any phone to receive the text?

  • +2

Can you add the 3 months Netflix to an existing account?

  • Poor price on the pebble.
I got mine for $99 not on sale. Definalty NOT $149.

  • I liked the K480. Loud keys but typing feels very comfortable and much better than a laptop chiclet.

  • Is this deal active yet? If I try to check out some of the items here the price is the original price

    edit: Looks like active now

  • Is there a way of getting Netflix code without having to pay for a prepaid plan? Cause when I go to activate the sim, it tells me to choose a plan, and doesn't seem like I can bypass it

    • the last 10 prepaid optus phones i got to get cheap netflix credit, came with $10 credit allready.
you don't pay anymore then the original price and they will still send you the code. you use the $10 credit that comes with it.

    • +1

You need to choose a plan, but you don't need to put any credit on it. It determines what happens if and when you do top it up. So if you're not going to use it, choose any plan, it won't matter.
(I got confused the first time, too.)

  • I just walked into DSE this afternoon. asked if they had a prepaid optus phone on special in the catalogue for $14.98 the Store Manager said no. we don't have such a special, might be JB Hi fi, or Harvey Norman or someone else. So I go grab the catalogue from basket at front of store. showed it to her. and she is like oh let me check. we have 4 in stock. so i took 2 of them.
I will now have 37 months worth of netflix. saving me over this period $300. and I have 12 cheap phones that I don't need or require (Might donate them to the nursing home in 2 years, once it is free to unlock them. Win Win for everyone

    • So what I understand is you bought many cheap optus prepaid phones and stacked the 3 Months Code each time, is this correct? If so, I'm also looking to buy a few of these phones just to stack the netflix codes :)

      • +1

        exactly what i have done
        it is stackable

  • DSE Broadway had 3 in the phone cabinet this afternoon. I purchased 2 of them. Hopefully someone here will be able to get the last one :)

  • Sorry. I'm part newb. Does the three months free netflix only apply to Optus customers or can I buy the optus phone and use it for my Internode account?
