Qi-Infinity Powergrid 34200mAh External Battery Pack for MS Surface Pro

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Qi-Infinity-Powergrid-34200mAh-Ex…

Is it worth buying??

Was looking for a backup battery for my Surface Pro and found this one on ebay. It's available on Amazon US as well but doesn't ship to Australia.

$172.02+shipping($29.27) = $200+

As per the specs it can keep the surface alive for 12hrs (inc 4hrs of device battery) but is it worth buying for $200. Also it's huge in size and heavy.

Am thinking for that price it's better to get an additional android tablet and keep it synched with the surface.

Looking for suggestions.

  • Holy freakin moly 34200 mAh!?

Anyway reviews look mostly good, possibly some problems with QA: http://www.amazon.com/ss/customer-reviews/B00JQKUCHQ/ref=acr_dpxrating_see_all?encoding=UTF8&ref=acr_dpxrating_see_all&showViewpoints=1

  • It's going to be really really heavy. You do know that right?

For that much money, i'd buy a 12v battery and an inverter.

    • Yes I know that's why wondering evenif I buy won't be able to carry with me all the time.

  • Would a power cover be big enough for your needs?

    power cover on ebay

Wouldn't be able to charge anything other than your sp2 though.

    ~ $190 AUD = 50 - 70 % more run time according to various reviews online.

    • Yes thought of that but it doesn't extend the battery life for long. Thanks anyways.

  • Oh shit you found me! small world and we think alike at least for the same device :P, anyway i am pretty much the only buyer of that eBay listing hehe and im using it currently i came across its bigger brother after buying the beastly 34200mAh http://www.amazon.com/Qi-Infinity-Powerplant-External-Capaci….

But since you cant find that to ship from Amazon or eBay to Australia i feel a little better but that 52800mAh size and weight is way too much it even comes with a car jump start kit LOL.

The 32400mAh powergrid itself is really good charges my surface pro 2 fully and more my iphone 6 and my sony xperia V phones and still has juice left.

Recharging the powergrid takes a good 5-7hrs to charge up from 10% left.

If you leave anything plugged in it will very slowly drain it but its hardly a deal breaker for me i forgot to take off all the cables and return it drained but i never measured it yet.

I have both the surface power cover and this powergrid and can say its heavier but it does more and i hardly use the power cover anymore, i just love the freedom of lightness of the type cover and touch covers, the power cover just isnt that versatile as the powergrid imo.

    • Too bad you are a boy, we cud have been together for life otherwise ;)

Am now more tending towards getting a Samsung note 8 or 10 as a backup. Easier and lighter to carry around with surface.

      Thanks for your thoughts.
