I am an employee at Target, and after a recent sale, there were 6 left over, so I decided to get them. They are brand new, fresh from the store, Australian models. Since brand new, they have 1 year warranty.

        It's possible, as there seemed to be heaps of stock (according to the thread, some stores even had 15)

        Penrith had 15 in stock

        And if there is an expiry date, the ebayer seller could've bought them for him/her-self

    I used to work at a Vic store while I was at uni… they take any complaints against employees very, very seriously! Several people from our store were fired just for posting photos online of themselves in the sound department glass cabinets… he's clearly profiting at the expense of the business and potential customers so they should know!

        Oddly enough there is actually a clause in the agreement for employees that prevents them from doing stuff like this.
        Kmart has the same thing.

    I don't understand why people are so outraged by staff buying deals. You know you would given the chance. I know it's now a running joke because in the past Dick Smith staff have made it so blatant and commenting so, but why should they not be able to buy them? They just need to learn to keep their yaps shut, that's all. Something, this eBayer clearly lacks.

    And he needs to charge more for postage, I doubt there is anywhere in Australia where you could send a boxed PS3 via Aust Post for $14.90, not even two streets away.

      I sympathise with this opinion, but 6 is a bit extreme. I only take pity on the fact that he only works at Target, so he's probably young and doesn't earn much. Realistically if money is at all important to him he should get a better job.

    I don't know why you are are mad at this, it happens everyday, even right now.

    He(let's just assume it's a guy) had the buying power to but it at a low price and sell it at a higher price to make some coin for himself.

    Especially to the point where you guys want him to lose his job, what if he's a uni student just trying to make some extra money on the side, is it really affecting you guys. Only 2 or so of the users here(that commented are from NSW), and a slight chance of either of you being near Lismore

    S/he is so honest to identify his/herself as a Target employee. It looks like the seller is confident that the action is (still) a valid thing.

    Does anyone works in retail have a written contract which forbids re-selling using employee's purchase benefit?

      Even if the seller is honest, he/she is trying to convince buyer that items are legit and comes with warranty. But the poor guy may not know the consequences that the fact that someone is looking over him/her.

      Some one can buy it and can have his/her accurate name and address if someone wants to make a move against him/her.

      For items that I have received from suppliers (prizes, items purchased at "staff/Pro" rates) etc there is an agreement that I can't sell them for at least a year…hence amongst other things I have a Sony A65 (Prize) and a Nikon J1 (incentive) that I have kept.

      Not sure about Target, but other places usually have a quota that an employee can use to purchase for "personal" usage. They are not too fussed about using your quota for family and friends but they most certainly don't like it when you try to profit from it.

    Hello! The accused posting here. I have since ended the listing to avoid trouble. The employee part was there to add credibility; do you really think I would post it up if I was breaching my contract? As posted above, I bought them AFTER the sale, as it wouldn't be okay to buy multiple things for resale when items are on special as such. Pretty sad to see a forum dedicated to taking action to me (although, thanks to the people defending me a bit), when in all honesty, I'll be making a slim profit, and helping out my store manager by clearing the stock. Now, with that being said, they are 100% receipted brand new Australian stock with warranty, and I was accepting best offers of $250. If giving people good deals on a brand new product, and making a little bit of a profit on the side is such a bad thing, then I apologise profusely.

It's the way of our society and some people just enjoy finding trivial shit to get angry about. In future, maybe don't disclose that you're from target, might help you out in the end. Just say they were recently bought from a sale or something.

      If you bought them when the sale was still on and took some away from a kid that really wanted one but couldn't afford one for $300, then people would judge you even if they can't stop you. But you bought them when the sale ended so you're all good in my books.

      That being said, doing business will always earn you enemies. As long as you can live with yourself and what you've done then that's what matters.

      I'm not sure we are entirely allowed to do this.
      I also work at Target, and we are reminded on occasion that we are not allowed to purchase products from the store, then resell them at a profit. Furthermore, we are asked to (and I always have) wait to purchase from a sale until at least the end of the first day, which you seem to have done on this occasion.

      I had a look through the retail agreement, and it seems alright you doing this, though I haven't read through the allowed purchases using a Target for You card. It's possible that the stores I have worked at have had some sort of agreement…

      Regardless, the fact that you left this until after customers had a chance to purchase the products gives you my support on a moral level. Customers haven't missed out, and there's potentially still plenty of stock (my store is in your region, and has a ton of them out the back).

          Oh I've got at least two groupies I know of. ArticFox (or something like that) used to follow me around negging me - he didn't like me mocking some Sony tablet deal and then spotting his troll account and reporting it which led to a short ban and I know that I regularly get two negs for even the simplest of replies very often.

    Well the way i see it is if what he did is perfectly acceptable by his company then it doesnt matter if people reported him, The company will say he didnt breach any agreements. So it will all be fine..now if people are worried that something might happen to them then doesnt it stand to reason its because they fear the company might feel that they did act unethically or breach some contract?

Anyway, I am leaving out any relevance to Target in the listing I will put up again tonight, so, as said, to avoid this petty nonsense.     For what he did was nothing compared with the Coles staff tries to hide all the roasted chicken for themselves to stop customers from buying them at rrp $10 each so they can buy them at $3 each when the store is closed. I was so pissed when i got there at 8.30pm found out they were all hidden at the back and told me they were reserved.

    Google "Arbitrage" then you will know there nothing to be mad about. Anyone is in a position to take the advantage and not to mention there is risk involved of the price difference for a desired profit or return is fair. Unless what he did was harming the business and reputation of his employers which was in breach of his employment contract, otherwise it is perfectly fine he took the chance and risk for a profit he wants.

    As I didn't make the sale I could be completely off (my manager informed me he had sold the six remaining PS3's) but as the sale was last week a few days before the thread started and the area isn't exactly massive (we are not a actual target, we are the smaller target country type store) I thought it was a pretty good guess…as for the staff thing my manager didn't say anything about it unless he was part of the Coles Myer chain which then would make sense of the claim. Again, if it was the same purchase at our store we are a small team and store therefore I would be aware if one of my fellow team members made the purchase.

        I should clarify that what happened was target had the 'below cost' sale which you all saw with the constant posts on here about cheap deals. Even though that promotion had ended, any leftover stock we had was still at that price (which is why they were not available online as it was store specific as the promotion had ended). The stock had been on the sales floor for weeks at the 'below cost' sale price and we had only sold one or two prior to the six being sold. I was honestly surprised it took so long to sell them all but then again its not exactly a huge area so that may be the reason why.

        The seller is from a town with less than 50000 people. I doubt theres many people who would have bought exactly 6 PS3's from the store and they end up on ebay a few days later.
