  • interested, anyone have any feedback?

    • Have heard good things only so far, but didnt bite the bullet though!

      • I am using AGL at the moment. It is pretty shit. I want to change even AGL is cheaper

        • Swap to Superloop or Leaptel for good price to performance.

  • These guys have to be hurting now that FOD covers a lot of the FTTN footprint.

    • That's interesting. Can you elaborate further?

      • nbn are upgrading FTTN to FTTP and FTTC to FTTP in select locations with a $0 install. Lookup your address here.

        • Is this no better than FTTN?

          • @Ehty: Pentanet fixed wireless can be faster than nbn FTTN.

nbn FTTP is the best out of the lot if you can get it. What does the nbn link say?

            • @Twix: I am already on FTTP since a year, but not much satisfied.( More nbn100/20)

              • @Ehty: More Telecom or your router could be the problem. What's wrong with it? What router do you have?

                • @Twix: Telstra gen 2 modem

                  • @Ehty: It's fine for 100/20. What problem are you having?

                    • @Twix: Lags , especially during gaming,

                      • @Ehty: More don't have the lowest latency. Superloop is usually better. Did you end up temporarily using ethernet? If so, did ethernet make a difference?

                        • @Twix: No haven’t tried Ethernet , it’s a bit difficult

                          • +1

@Ehty: This is the first thing you need to do.

Just buy a 50m network cable and tape it to your floor - it's not going to be permanent.

Only once you have eliminated the WiFi, can you decide how to proceed.

                          • @Ehty: Swapping the Telstra SM to a different router might help. Something like the eero 6+, Asus RT-AX59U, Asus RT-AX86U pro, TP-Link Deco X68 to name a few.

In my area, we previously had a lot of FW dishes due to shitty FTTN sync speeds, but thankfully now we can get FOD instead.

So, this is only available for locations in WA - right? i.e. Unable to find address unless it has a WA postcode.

    • Yeah WA only for Pentanet fixed wireless.

They are great, I've used them for 2 years before going to Opticomm (no NBN area). Highly recommended otherwise

  • I just found it is wireless, I don't need wireless, I have FTTP

    • +4

Yes, Fixed Wireless Internet does tend to be Wireless, but thanks for sharing.

That looks like a bloody good deal, wish I could go ahead with it.
Just got off the phone to one of their reps, and their tower is directly behind the two story house opposite… Dammit.
Standard Installation is free for 12month contracts as well.
